I don't think I'll like the virtual keypad because I like to feel when I push a button. Without tactile feedback you'll be lookin at the screen the whole time you enter a number to see if it picked up your presses! And I don't want to use the stylus to dial a number. But the P800 sure is better than the 7650, buttons or not!

@ Brimme
Well if u can get use to the weight and the size of the 7650 atm for me is the phone to use its got great user interferance nokia alwas had that well cowered and its wery fast much faster then the t68i menu, the screen actualy alows u to realy see the pics u took, not like on t68 where the faces are almoust like u dont know the people i tested also the connectivity part the part worked fine with my iPAQ 3870 no complications there also love the nokias gprs counter witch informs u of the internet traffic so ure network providers bill doesent go sky high if u want that kinda pocket pc software u have to pay for it .
The real setback has to be the weight size (brick design) and the battery nokia realy made a mistake not puting at least 1100 mA batery with the phone so if u use a lot and take pics all the time it will newer go to day 2 so i charged it every night !!
All in all i liked it not a bad phone by far and maked a lot of pics with it usualy my mca 20 stays at home but her the cam is always with u and thats good in a way
hers a pic of the 2 items sory the quality is low my web cam isent quite as good as it woud have to be
Next week my gsm network provider is giving me an nokia 72 10 for a week if any of u are interested i can post a mini review
regards =laz=

i think that the p800 will have the same faith as ericsson 380 as they first showed the last one it whas a state of the art equipment but when it whas released it whas already an old news and some phones even were more advanced than 380 so ill be wery dissapointed if this happens to p 800 but if the delais continue he will suffer the same faith

Well; I would adore a virtual interface as such but they need to separate the screen from the touch-sensitive part - incorporate the touch-sensitive part in the protective glass-shield. Then you would have a "screen-lock" switch, a jogdial and a stylus.
I absolutely do not believe in clam-shell designs. Too ugly, too uncomfortable, and too fragile. Asian people are crazy about gadgets so they buy anything new. Clamshell phones for EUR 800 will never make it big time in the west.
I think P800 is the best go at 3G/2.5G so far, but it needs to be the size the size of T300, and 95% of its front-area needs to be effective screen-area.
I would suggest the basic design of T300 but just a big touch screen on the front and no keypad. I'd be willing to sacrifice the inbuilt camera and some other features (though not mem-stick and mp3) for that. It should be rugged enough to be kept in a jeans pocket. |

God, if the P800 will be released next year...forget it... I'll just stick with my T68.
I won't even wait for the P800... I'll just get the new Clie instead. If they're gonna take that long, then I'm sorry... it DESERVES to fail. Had it been released BEFORE the 7650, they could've made a killing... they could've saved the SE reputation... but if all they're gonna do is rely on press releases and rumors... well... then I guess that's more R&D money down the drain.
SE seems to be pumping out excellent phones in Japan... why the hell can't they do the same with their GSM line??????????? |
