hadn't actually noticed these new tariffs from T-mobile until I saw this thread and I have to say i'm very impressed! If I didn't already have 3 contracts running I'd buy it especially at these cheaper introductory prices! They're also offering a wide range of phones free on these tariffs even on the cheapest of tariffs.

I was a loyal Orange customer until T came out with a great tariff for me 10 months ago.
I signed up for 18 month contracts because of what was offered at the time. After 9 months, i started to be over-charged for calls and line rental.
I called T and it was no problem. They sorted out my refunds within the day and offered me a free W800i as a way of saying sorry.
Fantastic! I cannot fault there customer services. Always helpful.....and always ( for me anyway) call me back when they say they will.
Because of my particular probs with over-charging, not only did they give me the W800i free ( still within contract) but they also gave me a special tariff of 200 x mins and 100 texts for £11.50 for the next 12 months!!!
Brilliant!! I,m gonna take out this new flex tariff.
First ever SE and chuffed to bits But i still love my 8890 |

I see most of the questions fielded have been answered but I'll quickly re-cap...
It does work similarly to O2's PAYG that gives you 100 "credits" to be used on text/voice as you chose.
You pay T-Mobile £26.25 p/m (if you buy from them direct) and they give you £180 credit each month and it's up to you whether you use it on text or voice or a combo of the 2.
And yes the theory is correct, you can effictively have 900 any time x/network minutes for only £26 and you get most phones free.
Glad I switched! |

I do think that the Flext tariffs are great value. The only bit putting me off is the 18 month contract, I prefere 12 month contracts.

What you will realise that... all networks will get better deals on the 18month contracts rather then 12months..... I use to be the same I will never get a 18month contract and 2 months back got myself a 18month contract only reason why cause I got 750MINS & TX ANYTIME X-NET......
So it was worth while.....
Cheers

1st 18 month contract I've ever taken myself admittedly.
I figured though that with a deal being as good as this, it'd be unlikely that something hugely better will come along inside that time period.
Could be wrong, hindsight is a wonderful thing. |

I dont use much in the way of minutes or texts but like getting a new phone as often as possible. I dont mind paying a little bit more to get a phone every 12 months instead of every 18 months.

I only keep phones a max of 6 months anyway, I just buy them sim free once I get fed up with my current one.
I was on O2's sim only deal before anyway so the new phone doesn't matter to me, I ordered a SLVR with my Flext contract and gave it to my dad and carried on as I'd only bought my E770 about 2 weeks ago. |

Has anyone got Orange to match these price plans!?
I know Orange do some sort of price match where they match competitor prices - has anyone tried doing this?
I would but don't need a new contract as yet coz got 4 already! But anyone out there who needs one it may be worthwhile to try and do this as IMHO Orange CS is better than T-Mobile's. |

Must agree with that, Orange is the best CS I have come across.
With T-Mobile I had a fairly lengthy wait (10 mins) but the operators are all helpful once you get through.
O2 online charge you a fortune to ring CS! |

I was on the O2 rolling contract deal and it IS a very good deal with costs very similar to the T-Mobile deal.
The 2 things that gave T-Mobile the edge for me were : -
1. You DO get a free phone and upgrades are available
2. The flexibility to vary whether I need more text than voice in any 1 particular month.
That said, the O2 sim only deals are top drawer. |

There are simply no other mobile phone networks that can rival T-Mobile Flext plan at the moment. It will be interesting to see how other mobile operators respond to such a flexible and comeptitive pricing plan. |

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see when and how the other networks respond to Flext.
I'm a bit surprised that their appealing, special-effects-loaded TV ads don't really mention much about what Flext entails; surely drumming the point home about what you get for your Flext tarriff would spur further interest from the public? Mind you, what do I know about advertising and the strategies behind these...? |

The T-Mobile adverts obviously worked as I am now a flext customer having NEVER even given a second thought about moving to T-Mobile.
The content and frequency of the adverts made me curious enough to check out the details online and that was me snared.
I'd be very surprised if the other networks don't launch something silimar this year as I expect they'll have lost a fair few customers to this deal. |
