Having been on O2 for about 6 years and Orange before that I have to say I am intrigued by this new FLEXT contract being offered by T-Mobile.
I was on one-2-one years ago and didn't find the service especially good, anyone on here got any input about T-Mobile UK as a network in general and about the new FLEXT contract specifically?
Cheers

Hey mate,
I found tmobile to be a decent network. Few problems I had was the network reception in my area, was horrible, mainly due to the landscape...get problems on a few of the networks as it is lol. Plus they dont upgrade their services & products as fast as the other networks like 3G which is abit annoying. Otherwise their service, customer support and deals are good, especially the flext thing, my brother considering changing his tarrif to it

Yeah I had awful reception with one-2-one however O2 get poor coverage in my town anyway so providing it's no worse than what I've already got then it'll do for me.
I think I'll go for it and report back here on how good a deal it is. (or isn't) |

t-mobile decided not to go for 3g - because they didn't apply for a permit/certificate sort of thingy to be able to do it. imo this is probably a good idea - because then everyone on t-mobile will probably then benefit from whats going to be 3.5g (real speed broadband net on phone !) |

to the last poster, i think you will find that t-mobile do have 3G services, why else would they be selling hansets like the N70 and MDA Pro which are 3G phones??

Im currenlty on Orange and the Flex T is so much better idea.
The only thing that puts me of is the network.
I work all over the country and never have a problem with Orange. However I also have a Virgin Sime card and some times i jet cant get a signal.

After reading all your posts i thought i would add,
i have been with t-mobile for many years through all their various guises(mercury -one 2 one and t-mobile)
I live in kent and travel around london daily and have no coverage problems, When i have been abroad the roaming arrangement was xcellent
Customer service is second to none , like a lot of people i use a k750i and have experienced the dreaded joystick problem and t-mobile have changed the handset twice now (although they are not so accomadating with water damage, but thats another story)
The only gripe i have with them is they seem to get the latest handsets last , but their answer to this is "We test them for longer to limit faulty exchanges" |

Well I took the plunge and went for the Flext 35 direct from T-Mobile.
£26 p/m and a free handset.
Looks good so far, £180 of credit allowance to be used between text and calls.
The concept is great and so far the coverage seems fine. |

Flext35 gives you 180quid to spend on calls, txt, pic/vid messages and voicemail. Calls are 20p per min, txt r 10p each, pic/vid messages are 20p each and voicemail 10p a min! If you go to there website there's a converter for you to try! Grousey, PM me mate-i have something you might want! :-)

Heres a link to the tariff discussed:
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dis[....]e_plan&ppid=903&pf=Flext+plans
You get £180 credit for £26.25 a month. This means that if you only make calls you get 900 anytime minutes or if you use texts only you can have 1800 texts. You can then mix whatever you want so you can have 600 texts and 600 minutes.

Yep, it's x-net.
Says so in the link. The 'credit' seems to be your 'reward' for taking out the 18 months-only option for the Flext tariffs. (ie. £180-worth of either calls, texts, etc for less than 30 quid a month!)
Unless I'm mistaken...?

My brothers on the tarrif and says its awesome, basically u pay your monthly line rental of £35 and instead of certain amounts of mins/txt, you get £180 worth to spend on calls or texts at a certain price, ur choice Meaning you can spend more on calls when you need to or vice versa.
Tmobile is great, apart from being the last to get the handsets and some network reception problems i find.
Also they are on 3G but only in London for the moment, they are apparently working on spreading coverage to the rest of the UK but will take time as always. Hope this helps
