It's true, SE don't touch liquid damaged equipment. In the SE engineer's troubleshooting guide for mobile repairs, it says liquid damaged equipment must be replaced with new components (obvious, when you think about it). So even if they only needed to replace the board, it's not an economical repair. They won't touch it because they can't gaurantee the work.

Regarding the cables, it's quite easy to remove them, they have a latch that when pushed forward allows the cables to be easily extracted from the clip. Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure.

As long as you are careful and don't use undue force you won't break anything (standard disclaimer yada yada yada)

there is a standard way of connecting such cabling. There is a part of the clip that slides away from the connector so that the cable can be removed. When the part is in place, it locks the cable in place.

See the green outlined part below, the red arrows are the direction you should gently move the green outlined part so that you can remove the cables. However the picture is not very clear, so I am partly guessing. The green outlined part may lift up rather than slide.

okay I had another look, and the green part looks fixed, in which case try pushing the tabs circled in blue downwards (direction of blue arrows), then you should be able to pull the cable out.

@max - Nice demo mate ! I'm learning a LOT from this thread

@saq - Good Luck! If I were in your case, I would just bring the unit in an authorized Service Center . . . just to be sure [addsig]
