The counter in the service menu is more accurate as that through the phone's normal interface, as it cannot be reset.
T65> K700i> K750i> K800i> Mars.

Does a master reset put it back to 0 ?

I don't believe so. And I think even updating the firmware cannot reset the counter in the service menu. There was a discussion about this a while back but I can't recall where - sorry! I just know that this was the conclusion!

Doing an update of the firmware or a Master Reset does not change the total call time displayed. Although, there are a handful of users that say their phones Total Call Timer has been zeroed after an service center updated the firmware. We have yet to see any kind of proof or at least a before and after picture of the phone.
