My theory is that with SE phones, the specs read that they can support memory cards up to a certain amount- say for example 'the k750i can support up to 2gb...', but this is only relavant for that period (in which it was written) where the highest is 2GB- and that the K750i can support more than 2GB but because at the time the highest capacity is 2GB they state this as being the highest supported.
Just a theory...

yes.. i agree with boyi...
these bigger MSD's arent just meant for phones.. its for other devices obviously... and i think some SE phones can handle such capacities even if its not stated in the whitepaper prior to its release...
its an adaptive characteristic of technology i guess...

Bring 'em ON!
Actually, I'm just hoping this means they'll bring the price down of the 2 gigga's. I won't be able to afford a 4 or 8 for probably the next 6 months to a year.

I'm skeptical that these large sticks would work with a K750 or W800... |

why? seems perfectly logical to me. They are designed to the duo pro specification, which can address memory up to 32GB.
On the same basis you'd say an old digital camera that came out when 16MB sticks were around wouldn't have a hope of reading a 128MB card, but that's certainly not the case. And the difference between 2GB (which we know works) and an 8GB is not as extreme as 16 to 128MB.

IMHO, the only reason they would not work is if an artificial limitation is imposed in firmware, but I find it very hard to believe that would shoot themselves in the foot (again)

as said above these should work in pro duo compatible devices. A P910 should have no problem registering it. As any other pro duo device |
