@ leeboy13: Thanks for the link. Will have a look, but to be honest i still want to stay with Orange Online direct as they have everything all ready set-up from my current contract and will save all the hassle re-doing it over again.

@ isherdholi: Well that is one way of getting what you want from Orange!

I've looked at similiar tarrifs on the new connections:

o2:
Standard: Free K750i, Anytime regular users o2 250 - 250 anytime xnet mins, 100 txt + 50% extra for life on a 18 month contract (300 anytime xmins and 150 msgs) + 100kb free i-browsing untill 31/03/06 - £35
Online: Free K750 + free bluebooth headset, Online 200 texter - 300 anytime xnet mins + inc 750 text messages + 1.0mb WAP - £35

Vodaphone:
Standard: Free K750, Anytime 275 - 275 mins anytime xmins + Stop the clock + free 3 months 1/2 line rental + free 3 months phone insurance? for 18 months - £35 (£17.50)
Online: Free K750, Anytime 275 - 275 mins anytime xmins + 500 txts + 3 months 1/2 price line rental for 18 months - £35 (£17.50)

T-mobile:
Standard: Free Sony Ericsson D750i, free bluebooth, Relax 200 plus txt 100 - 200 anytime xmins + 100 txts + 1/2 line rental for 12 months for 18 months - £33 (£16.50).
Online (self-serv): Free Sony Ericsson D750i, Relax 200 plus 100 - 200 anytime xmins + 100 txt + 1/2 price line rental for 12 months for 18 months - £30 (£13.50)

As you can see they are all are offering a free K750, so why Orange don't on a upgrade as ain't the customers who been with them 12/18 months should be more entitled?
I've checked my online account regarding upgrades and indeed the K750i is on a upgrade price of £49.99.

These are the phones which i can get free on upgrade:
Motorola V3 Black
Motorola Rokr E1
Nokia 1600
Nokia 6030
Nokia 3120
Samsung E800
Nokia 3220
Sony Ericsson K300i
Nokia 3220

These are on possible free upgrade (depending on how much you spend on your Contract per month):
Orange SPV C600 - £0.00 - 79.99
Nokia 6680 - £0.00 - 199.99
Motorola V3 - £0.0.0 - 149.99
Sony Ericsson K600i - £0.00 - £129.99
Samsung Z500 - £0.00 - 169.99
Samsung E720 - £0.00 -149.99
Nokia 6630 - £0.00 - 149.00
Samsung E350E - £0.00 - 99.99
Orange SPV C550 - £0.00 - 49.99
Samsung D500 - £0.00 - 129.99

It doesn't leave me much choice of a good handset to choose from the free ones.

Personally, I would say that, as the W800 has randomly disappeared from the Orange site, that they will be taking on the W810, (I assume), so I'd wait for that!

just phone them and quote o2's and vodaphones deals..... what have you got to loose? and i will be shockeded if they dont offer you a free K750i....... you'd be the first person i have ever spoken to to not get it free on upgrade if you say your 'thinking' of leaving.....

All the best

I've just checked the status of the phones on my account for a upgrade and noticed that SE K750i is now free and the W800i is back in stock on an upgrade price of £29.99!

Now i have a dilemma in which of the two to go for as i like both! As The W800i was out of stock at the time, i had my heart set on the K750i and willing to wait till it goes down but i also orginially i wanted the W800i. I've compared the two phones and they very similiar to each other. http://www.esato.com/phones/index.php/phone=167,cp=168

The only thing i noticed that slightly different between them is:
Camera resolution
W800i: 2
K750i: 2 Megapixels, autofocus

Memory
W800i: 38MB + 512MB on MSD
K750i: 32MB + 64MB on MSD card

Ringtones:
W800i: Polyphonic 40 voices, MP3
K750i: Polyphonic 40 voices

What would these differences exactly mean and which out of the two would be better regarding the differences?

I need your vote which one i should go for guys and girls (I have the currently the T610), as this upgrade may be subject to change once again (i don't want to loose a chance like this!) and upgrade as soon as i can!

Hey there,

I'm in exactly the same position(due an upgrade on orange). But i already own a k750 and a p910 so i'm waiting for something new to show up (god knows what).

Personally I think the main differences with the K750 and the W800 are purely cosmetic(except for the mem sticks) so the final decision in my eyes is which one looks better???

Have fun choosing,

Burg.

@ Burgaz: The K750 has a nice sleek design and very similar feel and look as the T610 (which i already have) but the W800i design is also very nice as i like the mix of the white and orange! It really does make the phone stand out!

I had the same praoblem a few months ago. But the final decision was made by the fact that no one had a w800 in stock when i wanted one.

@ Burgaz: I always wanted a W800i as well, but it was out of stock when i decided i wanted to upgrade. I'm glad that i hanged on rather than going ahead in buyin the K750i which was £49.99 at the time i wanted to upgrade but now is free!

@ Burgaz: I have fallen for the original phone i wanted now and at the price its going on upgrade is very good but still fussing over the K750i as well! I guess its not an opportunity to miss either!

I've checked the Orange website to see what new phones are coming soon, but i'm afriad the W900 isn't one of them! There gonna be a Nokia 6280, Motorola L7 and Motorola V3i.

K750i or W800i .... K750i or W800i .... K750i or W800i ... ARGH!!!

I am so tempted to ring Orange and go ahead the W800i!

EDIT: I've been searching the forum on the W800i and been reading people's comments, reviews, specs, pictures taken with the W800i ect and to be honest it's really edged it towards the W800i now!

@Frubin

I've been with Orange for 8+ years, but everytime I phoned them over the past week or so, I got a different story.

To cut a long story short, I never got a k750 or w800 offered free.
At one point I was offered a Nokia 6680 free, but when I called back later that day to take it up, they said they had no record of me being offered that - and instead offered me the same list they offered you. And told me the k750 would be £49.99 and the w800 £99.99 to upgrade.

So, I asked to be put through to disconnections, assuming they'd try to talk me out of it... and they didn't even try. Just gave me my PAC code and "good bye".

I've now got a w800 on O2 - free - £25/month.

And, after all my initial reservations (my k700 was awful) it's pretty good. In fact, it's more than that. Only a couple of niggles - the Walkman s/w isn't quite as slick as it should be, and I haven't been able to pair my Bluetooth headset yet.

I'm told Orange aren't trying to keep customers for some reason. You might get lucky if you speak to the right person, but I wouldn't be too bothered about switching networks to get what you want.

@ tot-shots: I know. I phoned up Orange customer services and Upgrade and different people whom i spoke to do produce a different story regarding upgrades. That 's why i didn't decided to go ahead with upgrading to a K750i at £49.99 at the point i did want to upgrade as i knew things would change regarding handsets.

Disconnecting from Orange was my last resort, but i guess if you keep nagging at them, they will eventually give what you want to keep you happy and stay with them. In a way it's your gain. It also depends what kind of person you get on the other end of the phone as well, as some are willing to bend-backwards for you and offer you a good deal in-order to keep you on thier network and contact.

I've contacted Orange Upgrade and decided to go for the W800i as a result as i don't know how long the handset will be on this upgrade offer/price! I think i will be very happy with my new W800! I just can't wait!
