If I bye a Nokia I will post the same thing as you "it's complicated, too long, ..." because I have the habitue with the ericsson

look people! i am not having a go at ericsson and i am not favouring Nokia, i am just be constructive, there are a number of people from sony ericson that read this forums, this is consumer research! so what ever is said is of use! power is kowledge! it took me a long time to chage from nokia to any other manufacturers,
but i have done so and i do like this model! its far more professional! Nokia is for "KIDS" however they have led the way for a long time now? "the change has begun"

Who told you that T68 is bad? It is by far the best phone in the market today. It has everything well organizied. Don't forget that the phone has huge capabilities and its menu is still very easy. There is no Nokia in the market today to have these things. As you can understand, relatively simple functions have easier operations.
In addition, don't forget that Ericsson has already fanatic users that switched from older ericsson phones to this one. Ericcsson has to follow a certain manner to implement some functions in order to satisfy those customers as Nokia does. Ericsson T39, T29, T65 have the same logic as T68 has.
But I don't believe that it is too difficult to learn how to operate corect the T68. My previous phone was a Nokia 8210 and I had no problems at all to operate T68 immediatelly.
Because of the complexity of things I believe that the speed of newer phones (and T68) will keep decreasing. Have you ever seen or operate a Nokia 9210 to see its speed? Even 8310 is slow compared to 8210 or older models.
Obviously I don't agree with you. I thing that has made the perfect handset for the time beeing. If, also, I take into account the upcoming software upgrade with MMS, then we should see the T68 as one of its kind.

I DID SAY NO OFFENSE U DUMB FUCK

I think the problem here is that phones of a certain make have to evolve from each other, and also that Ericsson can't suddenly take something from Nokia (or vice versa) as a) it messes up the logical process for everyone used to it, and b) it's kinda admitting defeat. I had a 7110 and I'd quite agree there are several things Nokia's got a lot more right than Ericsson (storing numbers, txt msg input etc). The ideal would be for Ericsson to have a hidden menu to change all these sort of things to Nokia style

One other thing that really gets to me - is there any way of sending DTMF tones mid-call? The R520 has this, but the T68 doesn't appear to, which is an essential feature for me.

Apart from that, still a great phone, and probably the best available at the moment. I wouldn't consider anything but Nokia and Ericsson (or possibly just Motorola) - Trium, Siemens etc. are a complete joke.

Eamon, you seem to be getting more worked up about this necesary.
Almost everyone on this forum has a SonyEricsson, so naturally most of us like them!
But a bit of constructive criticsm doesn't hurt either.
As for the original point to Golden Boy, you should have got the young lovely to say her name and number and saved it as a voice memo, that way you could listen to it the next day and find out whether you really want to call her or not!
I do find the saving of numbers more obtuse than it should be.

@adamrj
You probably never had a Siemens ??? And I totally disagree with you !!! I had once a tri-band Motorola... and it was the worst phone to use... and I had before our fabulous T68 a Siemens S35i... which was really great !!
And I can assure you, if the Ericsson Development Team is not making quickly something for our T68 to go faster and with an easier T9 and if Siemens make once a tri-band color phone... I’ll go back to Siemens… (but before... let see the R2B...)
BTW, I’m not working for Siemens... I’m just looking for a phone with a lot of user friendly features... which is definitely not the case regarding the Ericsson T9...!!!!
Fortunately, a lot of other features are really COOOL...

I have to admit, I did not expect words like those you mentioned below (or above, depending on yur settings) in a GSM forum.

The Internet offers a podium to everyone to shout at others, be a racist or not, love or hate presumed arabs and so on.

But please please please not in this forum.

I PERSONALLY THINK WE ALL RISK TO DISQUALIFY US IF ANYBODY READS THAT KIND OF .....
Sometimes (even if it is annoying) others also may express other feelings/idears.

Lets calm down please

Unsaved numbers can be saved "automatically" but only after completing call (i.e. one that connects)...turn on the option via the menus.

Phonebook->Options->Ask To Save->On

Hope this helps...
