OK, who has had this annoying problem, I meet a girl in a club we get talkin and we exchnage numbers, NUMBERS, now with the nokia you would type the number into your phone, then you have the "Option" to save as a new entry, but with the T68 you put the number down and it doesn't give you this option, even if you dial the number once, and go back it still doesn't give you the option to save the number! WHAT , I SAY what is with this Phone! you here so much good stuff, but this just takes the piss, i lost the girls number,

How do you overcome this problem, does any one have a clue what i am talkin about?

If you called that number, then it should appear as an outcoing call to you calling list, of course, if it is activated! I always do the same and I have never lost a number. Then I add the contact to the phone and when it asks the number I take it from the call list.

The more I hear about this T68 the more I think I don't want one. I've been monitoring this list for a while, waiting for Orange to release it and so far I've gathered that apart from a colour screen it's
1) Damn slow
2) awkward to use - nokia has better logic.

Hmmm Is anyone willing to agree that the T68 is one of the first of a kind and as such those that come after it will be implemented better ?

Or is it not as bad as I've picked up on this list ?

smason5: I think Ericssons menusystem always have been some kind of akward for the Nokia user. I dont think that the menus on the T68 is that akward, but i have always had an Ericsson, never a Nokia.

But if Ericsson could fix so you just entered the number you wanted to save and the you pressed the "option button" choosed save and then entered the name, would speed up the process. (Hope you guys understand)

All (latest 40?) numbers you have called or missed is accessible from the add new contact menu.

If you want to add a number to your address list, do this:
-> Phonebook
-> Add contact
-> Type in name
-> Navigate down to the mobile, home or work field.
-> Joystick left or click the "option" key
-> Choose "Unsaved nos."
-> Choose from the list the number you want to add.

it is a great phone
it just takes a bit of time and patients to get used to it if you are one of the nokianation you will find things a bit different
i had nokia from the 3210`s all the way up to 8890`s
and they were all the same features as each other
so the t68 took a while but i glad i changed and as for the looks they a very small part of the t 68 its every in the phone thats great the looks is just a bonus
thats only my opinion

Who told you that T68 is bad? It is by far the best phone in the market today. It has everything well organizied. Don't forget that the phone has huge capabilities and its menu is still very easy. There is no Nokia in the market today to have these things. As you can understand, relatively simple functions have easier operations.
In addition, don't forget that Ericsson has already fanatic users that switched from older ericsson phones to this one. Ericcsson has to follow a certain manner to implement some functions in order to satisfy those customers as Nokia does. Ericsson T39, T29, T65 have the same logic as T68 has.
But I don't believe that it is too difficult to learn how to operate corect the T68. My previous phone was a Nokia 8210 and I had no problems at all to operate T68 immediatelly.
Because of the complexity of things I believe that the speed of newer phones (and T68) will keep decreasing. Have you ever seen or operate a Nokia 9210 to see its speed? Even 8310 is slow compared to 8210 or older models.
Obviously I don't agree with you. I thing that has made the perfect handset for the time beeing. If, also, I take into account the upcoming software upgrade with MMS, then we should see the T68 as one of its kind.

easy, bruv! I have been through 4 types of phone software from panasonic, mrolla, nokia and now ericsson, the thing is that the nokia was well made and i felt so comfortable with it! this phone has some really good points and i don't even get a chance to use it to its fullest, however this is just one problem that i have found, the other one is when you want 2 send a contact via IRA you have to go through a long proccess,

phonebook
Business cards
send contact
find
send IRA

c this is long!

While if you were using a nokia and you went to the last 10 numbers , the phone would give you the option to send the any of those numbers via IRA, while with the T68 it takes to long, another problem with this is that you have save a number in order to send it,

there are a number of problems, but thats cos i have used Nokia's for a very long time,

i will give ericsson some credit, as it has made it easy for people to convert to their phones but they gotta do a lot more

To golden boy

I am not offensive to anyone. Just saying my opinion. As I told before, every thing has its own features/characteristics and a certain way to implement these. It is something like cars: all cars almost do the same, but, some good cars do it better.
I mean, that every phone has many features, but you must know how to do operate it. Nokia has a logic and Ericsson has another. Some thing are easier in Nokia, some tasks are easier in Ericsson.
Also, History is important. Imagine, that Ericsson changes its menu and made it similar to Nokia. WHat will happen among the fanatic owners of ericssons? They would probably read the manual form the scratch to see how to do tasks in the new menu!
Concluding, the menu of a phone, is critical and also characterizes the phone. I mean it is something like a signature. You cannot change it from model to model. Nokia has the same software to all new phones because all Nokia phones are the same! The only thing that changes is the size and the cover's colour. So, why to change the software? But again, look at 9210 to see its menu!

Bottom line gentlement is that we all have too much time and money to be discussing the insignificance of phone features, menus, bla, bla bla. A phone is something personal, not everyone understand our infatuations with the T68.

I for one had the Sanyo color phone, and that was a piece of shit. The T68 is a great phone, battery is good considering hte color screen, of course it has some tweaks that will come with an updated software.

For those of you considering buying the phone, take our comments with a grain of salt. A cellular phone was meant to make and receive calls, the rest are perks

Mate! don't even go there! offensive gestures will get you in trouble! "dumbarse" skeen, the thing is, I don't think I have ever needed to read manuals for any of my phones, I just play around and figure it out! LOGICAL steps, therefore all the phones I have used, I have been able to understand the logic towards them, however the reason for my post was to c whether this is a hereditary, or a new problem that Ericsson have, U BAIT,

Another "Comparison" point that I need to make, well when you miss a call and you go to missed call is there any way that i can individually look at the number of times i missed that call, and at what time i missed the call, currently with the T68 you have to high light the number then wait for it to Periodically change, is there another way of doing this

TO Eamonn you Celtic / Galic pr@** don't even bother to test me, seems you’re the DUMBARSE needing to read the manual?

I agree that it's stupid that You can't add a new contact in the same way You do with a Nokia phone. But I love my T68 anyway!
I have had several Nokias, my latest one before my T68 was the 6210, my best phone until now!
