Thanks 4 that advice mate but over the xmas time i cant be bothered with all the hassle. So i will bite the bullet and get a w800 housing, flash to w800 firmware. And hope that the camera is sorted after that. In fact the housing is getting bought just now. I will let u know how i get on . (and do me a favour,cross ur fingers and toes 4 me) |

the phone was not listed with a broken camera but with a broken shutter wise guy. and i just bought this housing hopefully it is complete what do you think does it include the buttons.

I once ordered a full W800 casing with buttons, screwdrivers and everything from that exact seller. Had mail correspondance with him before purchace, payed through paypal and mailed him receipt for payment, never heard anything from him again, and never received any housing or anything. Mailed him 5 times afterwards and never received an answer. Nothing.
It was my first ebay purchace ever, and it will certainly be my last.
IMHO ebay is one of the biggest scam places on earth. |

The guy accepts western union for payment 
I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Ebay are currently telling people not to use western union for payments as they can not trace payments if anything goes wrong, ie, there is no paper trail.

try to update the firmware.
if still doesnt work, sell it @ ebay, with £5/no profit. at least u hav ur money back. uh yeah dun forget to state "camera faulty"  |

@ Frank2345babies... it might be worth asking gbrooks3 for his opinion as to what the fault is and what cost would be involved to repair it. His technical knowledge of phones is second to none and he has never failed to help me whenever i've asked him about anything mobile phone related.

any luck with the phone? looks fully working to me in the pictures but too far away as you said. if you cannot fix it sell the screen. they are worth around £40 if you find the right buyer.

If you think you have been mis-informed about the item, and you payed by pay pal, make a complaint. Its happened to me before (I sold a copy of Microsoft Office 03 - clearly stated it was a copy) and then some nutter thought it was real and bought it, put in a complaint and I was forced to refund.

Sorry to hear that. I just bought a Z600 on Ebay and it was in acceptable condition. Buying used items on Ebay is always a risk. Especially if the picture does not match the real item.
Hopefully you can get some recourse. Good LUck.

i might still get my w900i after all as my auctions are going well and only need to raise 70.00 in order to have enough money to cancel my contract early and take a new one out with vodafone with suitable monthly costs and even a faulty d750 should raise at least £70 so might be in luck after all. |

excellent thanks for the link. and for anyone who is interested my w900 has been ordered from voda. even though my bank balance is now seriously in the red i needed to get that phone. |

um i think the fault will achually be with the ribbon cable that connects the camera and shutter switch, its possible its been detached, but if the housing has been played with its likely its broken, and these are almost impossible to get (had this thing before) if it is this you re screwed paypal will do nothing as your item is faulty and bought that way, to them it doesnt matter if he didnt send it by a recorded method of del say you didnt get it, thats your only hope, as you cant sell it on for 95 as in my opinoon you paid way to much for it anyway
