joan: It's not available to new customers, it's a retention deal offered to customers who are up for renewal and threaten to leave. Basically it's a 'secret' OVP tariff to match 3G and you only get offered through retentions. |

wow! they actually treat existing loyal customers better than new ones!
seems enough reason to join them anyway |

It's luck of the draw really, others have reported not being offered anything by Orange and even I was told "want me to cancel your account then" the first time I threatened to leave if I wasn't offered a better deal.
Retentions (and upgrade) offers are usually based on examining how much you spend on average, taking into account your monthly line rental and more importantly how much money *over* the line rental you spend (e.g someone with a 30 tariff that spends 10 extra on calls a month is not as good as someone on a 10 tariff that spends 30 extra on calls, even though they both spend 40 quid a month) |

Joan
Don't know if this is any good to you, but my best friend has just got one on Vodafone through dialaphone.co.uk.
W800i - free
Line rental - £35 p/m
275 mins
500 text
Stop the Clock (talk for 60 mins, pay for 3)
3 months free line rental
18 month contract though.
If I had seen this I wouldn't have changed to O2.....
Anyway, thought I'd pass it on.

Thanks Gooner Girl,
If i can get that deal, I'll probably stay. I've been looking at the orange 300min/100 text for £30 deal, but have been reasonably happy with vodafone.
now just have to find a deal like that online so i can bully vodafone into matching (the orange phone cost £30) |
