Hi again, sorry to get your hopes up, but after ringing (and successfully ordering) my w800i yesterday, they now tell me it's out of stock again!
I think they over-allocated their stock yesterday afternoon and when it came to actually despatching this morning they couldn't fulfill a lot of their orders! However I've been assured that I'll be first to get one when the next batch comes in... whenever that may be. |

Just Order through CPW, That way, you'll get it quicker, you'll still be with O2 plus, and this is the big one, It will come unlocked and unbranded!

damnit, i'll have to wait and see, but i assume i'll get the same result as you.
however, interestingly, when i rang up to tell them i knew it was in stock (i dont quite trust them if i simply ask), the operator said "it's just come in this morning", so either that's an o2 lie, or they've had some more today so yours should be ok to arrive soon.

@dglmartin
sorry, didnt see that, but i'm with o2 online already, so i'm just going to have to wait and see on this one. o2 might give out good renewal offers, but really, we shouldn't be conned into saving money at the expense of the service we get generally. unfortunately no matter how bad they get (and this isn't referring to the w800 situ, i realise this is not necessarily their fault) i cant really afford to start up a new "30 contract elsewhere...

I've just ordered a W800 for an upgrade from O2 Online.
Have rung them up 8 or 10 times and been told a different thing nearly every time. I've been told 'out of stock, try again next month', '14 day delivery' (I guess that means it's out of stock but they will place the order and fulfil when they come in), '7 day delivery' and the last time I rang the order was just taken and no timescale was discussed.
I've since had 2 emails confirming the order has been placed and passed to the warehouse for dispatch. I've got no idea whether this means they have any in stock or when I will get the phone but the mixed messages you get are unbelievable. My guess is it will take several days to arrive. |

This is just a guess, but maybe they're starting to just take orders even if the phone isn't in, so that people can basically be put on pre-order. They must have so many calls every day about w800i... when I rang up to ask if it was in stock today they said yes, then I asked why my order wasn't going through they said actually it wasn't in stock! No e-mail to confirm, just a note on my order page saying Out Of Stock.

i dont understand why the hell it's so hard for them to know whether a phone is in stock or not...i mean, unless their software systems are prehistoric compared to today's standards, then there has to be some 'creative' customer service training in that company.
i haven't received any emails, i presume i should have received a confirmation then? it's just i didnt think this was odd as with online they tend to refuse to email you about anything.
i may ring them back in an a bit and see if the order's gone thru, i'll let you know what they say if i do

Still on the phone, the order is going through as i type this, but having to pay £49.99 for the phone.
and the new contract is going to be £14.99 instead of £24.99 which is good. |

My Order Status has now changed to completed and apparently it's been despatched, strange considering they told me there were definitely no phones left! See what tomorrow brings... hopefully a w800 |

glad to hear it although i have a bad feeling about mine.
theboat, did you get a confirmation email in the end? and also, call me dense, but i seem incapable of getting anything other than 'invalid' on my order number on dhl. but i dont know if i'm entering it in the right area etc, is it a consignment number?
cheers |

I've had no e-mail but I've never found O2 very reliable in sending me bills or anything via email. The order number won't appear on the dhl site straight away, and yeah its nextday consignment you enter it on, the full code gm-xxxxxxxxxx.
