I have read of people with PSP problems who have contact Sony direct because the retailer simply did not have PSPs to replace the faulty ones with.
I don't know the situation with mobile phones but surely it is worth trying SonyEricsson direct - as surely you get a hardware warranty (in your 1st year) with them.
This is what I did with a Sony stereo that I owned many years ago. All went smoothly.
At the very least you could argue that Vodafone do not have the stock to replace the phone like for like. |

hi mate, forstly thanks for the help, as for the phone the problem is in the earpiece, a couple of saturdays ago out of the blue, i went to make a call and when it started ringing it sounded very loud and distorted, this sometimes happenes ie signal or something so i didnt really bother.
then when i was speaking to the person it was really distorted and i almost couldnt hear them, even with the ear vol up full.
went into the secret menu with the service tests and done the earpiece test and its clearly burst inside, it sounds just like a blown speaker.
i am going to contact SE, no harm in trying.
to the people who think this whole situation sounds childish, the bottom line is, when i was upgrading my phone, if i knew it was the silver one vodafone dealt with then i sipmly would not have chosen that handset so why on earth should i get stuck with a mobile phone that i dont like?........
again thanks for the help folks, appreciated

I had a similar earpiece problem with my K700i recently.
I took it to a Authorised service centre to get the firmware updated from R2A041 to R2AE033. A couple of days later, the earpiece started to distort just as you described. I did a master reset which fixed the problem and there have been no reoccurrances at all (over 2 months now).
Hope this helps

OK,
You got the phone from VFone, your deal is with them! Not SE if you return it within 14 days they will replace with like for like, however as it says in your CONTRACT, after that its at their discression, i know it sounds like shit, in future read the SMALL print! |

Sorry to say but Voda can send you a like for like, better model and or change the model at there discretion.
Me personal, i would also be kicking of with them for sending a K750i Silver one, Its not that i dont like the colour its the fact that they can just do what ever they want and this is why im with Orange. I have many dealings with Voda in the past and im sorry to say none of them good.
My friend bought a brand new s700i from voda on a 18 month contract. His phone went faulty after a month, he took it back into the Voda shop for them to have a look at it. Any way they sent it of for repair and said 7 days, Well 7, 14, 21, 28 Days went past and nothing. He had to do all the chasing, Customer care couldnt help or care and shop just said we are waiting for replacement model now or yours back. Any way on the 35th Day his phone came back, He went to collect and it wasnt his but a 2nd hand replacement. This was slightly scratched and had a piece of plastic missing. Shop says theres nothing more they can do as this is cosmetic and what they were sent, and he still cant use normal Mp3 as ringtones if he doesnt use the drm packager.
He kicked of but they wouldnt budge. Needless to say he wont be going back ot voda when his contract is out.
I wold advise you to take it in to a SE service center or Car phone warehouse shop. These will do there bit for you and repair it. You may not have your phone for a couple of days but you will get your black one back.
Nothing more than i can say, but when your contract ends dont stay with them. |

Why get it repaied with Vodafone?
Take the phone to somewhere like Carphonewarehouse and let them send it off for repair unser the SE warranty.
Ateast you'll get the same phone back, fixed!
I did just that with a phone i had which i had problems with.
Good Luck!
