for cleaning make sure to use a denatured alcohol, and a soft cloth to avoid scratching anything. make sure to clean all contacts and allow plenty of time for the alcohol to evaporate before attempting to turn it on. but, most likely you will not be able to repair it yourself, and most repair centers will not attempt to fix it.. liquid damage to electronics is the worst...

the dirt on the screen is on the rear, so may not be a problem however, the screen can be taken apart easily (however ive only once had one put back together which worked) it got rid of the water marks in the lcd.

theres a silver sheet of plastic and a few white ones, your basically looking to wipe them clean, the put the screen back togther.

Yeh, the photos i took were after the silver backing had been peeled off. I was too scared to remove any more layers of the lcd, lol.

From the comments given i decided that at worst i have to buy a new LCD so i took apart the LCD layer by layer cleaning each slide and then replaced in the correct order.

Thankfully the LCD is now working perfectly and the phone seems to have dried up and is back to normal. *phew*

Thanks for all your help.
