S II users, Samsung has not forgotten about you!
Galaxy S II Android 4.1.2 JellyBean TEST firmware Leaks
We of SamMobile would like to give you the latest I9300XXLSJ Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Test firmware for the Galaxy S II. I9100XXLSJ is the first ever Jelly Bean leak for the Galaxy S II and surprisingly it’s really stable as well. This TEST Firmware was leaked by Forum Member izap of XDA-Developers.
This build is very much near perfect so we believe that Samsung will actually start rolling out the Official Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S II very soon. The day Samsung starts to roll out the official update you will be able to install the latest update through Kies or OTA update.
Some of the Enhancements in the new Jelly Bean Update:
- Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- New TouchWiz Nature UX (Same UI as of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II)
- Samsung’s Cloud services
- Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play Features
- New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now
This is a PRE-RELEASE version so not official from KIES.
As this is a PRE-RELEASE firmware so expect some minor bugs.
Firmware Details:
Android Version: 4.1.2 – JZO54K (Jelly Bean)
PDA: I9100XXLSJ
CSC: I9100OXXLS1
MODEM: I9100XXLS6
Changelist: 462349
Build Date: 6th November 2012

Going to wait for the final firmware to be released then i'll get my S2 from its box and fire it up, still has a long life ahead of it it seems.

They just detailed the JB update for SII. That's a great job done by Samsung ! I wish sony took a little inspiration in this regard. 2 yrs old, and the phone feels newer by the day.
I know my T will probably be upgraded to like 4.2 max and then it gets too old to run anything new, yet a sub par 2013 device will be able to run it

I'm using AOKP 4.1.2 milestone1 and it's very stable. Stock AOKP kernel.
Had an uptime of almost 23 days until I dropped my phone and the battery jumped out .
23 days without restart is something. And I've used the phone for internet browsing a lot.

Updated my GS2 to 4.1.2 today and it is running beautifully, how the hell are Samsung the only ones able to get an Android to run so fast and smooth its on par with my GS3, snappy in every menu and just a blast to use, thoroughly enjoying it, its basically a GS3 Mini but with better hardware than the actual GS3 Mini Samsung should have just rebranded the GS2 as S3 Mini, the Exynos4210 in this thing still has a whole lot of power by the way its running
Some screenshots:
Loving it, may just use my S2 for a little while and give the S3 a break.

Just like my S II Plus great in every way with this version of Android. And someone should take a lesson from Sammy's camera expertise :

That's one beautiful shot Rikken
Ps. How refreshing is it to use a more compact version of GS3/Note2? it feels great, one thing I always loved about S2 was its light weight and compact frame, it just feels right.

Indeed, an iconic Android. Even better than some 2012 flagship Androids at this point.
