I liked the old days when SE didn't have a huge phone portfolio of around 45ish phones available at one time. They had around 10 phones maximum and every one of them was a winner.
I think they need to release less phones (maybe one in each category), but put more effort into each of these phones to make them very competitive, or a market leader.
I think there are too many 2 mega pixel candybar SE phones to count at the moment.
That was a very good moment to remember not until miles flint have messed up with SE portfolio (releasing too many identical yet less functional handsets) along with the tragic fate of their high-end solutions(k850 and P990) i can only think that his move towards expanding the portfolio ended up a big mess for komiyama-san to deal up with. having known the fact from mizzle before that SE team develops phones even three generations ahead before the phone to be released on the current time is out. i can only think that what eldar have seen on the SE future portfolio for 2009 were the products developed under Miles Flint and not from Komiyama-san

The way I see it is that their planed solution is not focused on high-end but rather making variety of low-end types.
I am not sure if you are aware of it or you know what Dick is trying to say but, before SE went down, Nokia is known to recycle products. Add one feature and call it a new phone. It work for Nokia for the longest time and SE(during the time of Mr Flint) tried to copy that strategy until SE went down. That is what Mr Dick meant when he said he will not copy Nokia's strategy and that's why that coment of his is good not a bad one. |

Sorry guys, Its not gonna be a Cybershot. It will be a smartphone. Hicaro, the one for which Paris was scrapped is gonna be the one. 8.1 mp, touchscreen, UIQ and most importantly, its a P. it will have VGA recording btw. |

If its a smart-phone, then it will be targeting a very different audience and price-tag to the C905. So that means they won't clash with each other.

Aw, come on. You know that's not exactly true.
EDIT:Oh, so it's not gonna be a cyber-shot? I knew that was supposed to be Hikaro.

Well that's true with regards to Hecaro but a Cyber-shot UIQ touch screen device is comin the fall ...
So lets see what this touch screen cyber is and what hecaro turns out to be. C905 is a feature phone, the other one will be a smart-phone, either there will be 2 cyber-shot branded and p branded or just 1 either a cyber shot or p series.
Will have to wait for the fall to find out or till more info comes about.

I dont think they are gonna release two cybershot flagships back to back. Maybe the touchscreen is scheduled for next year. This has to be Hecaro. And we also need a full touch walkman 16 gb. |

@se_dude
You mean Hecaro will have 30fps VGA videorecording? Wow! That suggests a better processor!
Now that conflicts against Eldars description as "Paris with a bigger memory" Which suggests that the prototype he tested has an old processor. |
