P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace  So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

S60 phones from SE can only only appear on late 2009, about one year before symbian foundation devices. Now its too early. According to info that Zed from CellPhoneSoft got, the final version of uiq 3.3 will be ready on September, and after that devices will appear on market, from motorola and SE - as usual, who knows if this will really happen. My point, if Hicaru is to be launched at short term, it can only be uiq 3.3 or wm |

wild rumors have it that Android and Symbian Foundation will join up again to create an open source OS.

its merely analyst speculation right now, but WoW this is another MASSIVE drop, in my opinion simply amazing! if SE doesnt have to worry about software, oh my, they could actually create some insane hardware, esp if SONY has to step in (or out at this juncture) to save its own name let alone the brands its lent to SE. |

I read it but I don't think anything like that would happen. Why would they go all the way to make the Symbian Foundation only to announce a little while later that it'll be joining force with Android. I thought one of the reason for the emerging of the Symbian Foundation is to be a competitor to Android.
But I would like it if they would come together cause then we would have an awesome OS. |

its quite clear, if they are both open why not merge and make one platform to compete against the apples and the MS' of the mobile OS sphere.
it makes complete sense business wise, if NOKIA was aware of what its intentions were (long term) then in order to make the transition easier it just bought everything then gave it to a foundation, and then have that base work with android, one less competitor and a hell of a partner. like the article said several of the more influential members of the symbian foundation and the OHA overlap ... why SHOULDN'T they team up? |

that merge is impossible. Symbian and Android are totally different architectures. I heard that android is Java based and has it's own virtual machine. Unified Symbian is still Symbian based therefore compatibility between the two is hard.
Note that Unified Symbian is not even compatible with UIQ despite UIQs Symbian heritage how much more with Android?? |

who cares what ELDAR think! yup SE phone sucks recently but buying what is still our own preference. his point of view is for your reference before you buy something.
there's wasn't much bad comment or remark about S500 or W580 keypad going to crack until it really crack when the phone start selling....now before the phone start selling there's worries its going to crack
heck i don't care i will choose a phone i like with it suit my taste at tht moment of period.

the way you guys act is not right, you have to be harsh on the ones you love for them to improve, eldar doesnt hate SE, he mentioned that he was a fan, but he's dissapointed because SE are not trying to improve, im not defending eldar, but this guy sees unannounced phones and reviews phones day in & day out, so he knows what he's talking about, who wouldnt like to see SE be a leader like the old days? |
