Its sad what Eldar has written about S60 becoming the mainstream UI. I love UIQ but I guess that messed things up big time. The touchscreen Nokia smartphone will be the death of the P series while the Xperia range takes over but WM will always be hard to use.
I am desperately waiting for the W960 replacement because that must have UIQ. Paris with more memory sounds like Hecaro to me so I imagine that it will look the same.
I am disappointed that Alicia is cancelled because the others are so dull and similar to previous models. Even the C905 has lost its appeal. The P800 was unique and if it were updated today, it would still be unique beacuse it is a smartphone that is so easy to use. Its sad that the only 2 phones that I would buy are the G700 or G900. |

Just read that thread, in regards to my P1i and now G900 I don't agree with any of it. There's a thread on here proving the G900's camera is more then capable, my reception is fine, the software is so far fine but as it's matured UIQ3 I would expect it to be and the battery life is great. he build quality is ok, could be better but seems like it will last and I don't like metal, drop your phone and you get lovely dents! Basically I'm loving my G900. But what ever Elder say's can totally change as we've seen SE will cancel a product at any time which includes anything Elder has played with, and if you believe SE didn't know about this Symbian alliance at least a year ago then more fool you.
And gees what the hell am I doing talking about how I personally am happy with SE yet again...... In the rumours/ SE are crap thread. |

I totally agree badassman.
It's a shame they did not give hecaro new CPU on top of the increased memory as well. If they did, bravo for them, but sounds like they didnt.
I would love to see a true w960 replacement.
Sadly, my options for an SE phone are even slimmer than you since i want one that supports US frequencies... X1 right now is my only option from SE.

I think SE lost the track just after W910i > W960i > K850i series of phones
K630 K660 W380 W350 (yak) W980 are just bunch of useless phones with no real special use
I hope W902 achieves gets the same love that W810i got hope so |

Does anyone know the significance of the third set of circles on this page: http://www.sonyericsson.com/reveals/
If you notice, it's missing one inner left "white" area... as shown below in the purple rectangle:

^ The missing circle could be just a mistake, I wouldn't put it past SE the way they're going now

Seeing that SE have bothered to make a countdown site for their upcoming announcement, obviously they think something they have to announce is very special.
This makes me really wonder what it is that Maximys is hiding from us. I mean, the W302, W595 and W902 are hardly anything new or special. There has to be something in this announcement that SE can add to their 'fun facts' about Walkman that you see on the countdown page.
W302 - Nothing special or different. Its really just a W880i.
W595 - Just a slight upgrade to the W580i and doesn't do anything more than the W980 for example.
W902 - Ok it has a 5MP camera but that's hardly special these days. If that was their special announcement, they'd get booed off the stage.
So what is this 'new' thing they are going to announce?!

Well, Maximys hinted at something to do with the displays. Eldar Murtazin on Se-nse submitted a long post describing that SE will soon reveal their own line of digital photo frames, and why they will do so. I dont really know what to make of this, but it seems that the info from both parties coincides. However, even if true, I dont see what that has to do with the walkman sub-brand. Also, I dont see this as pleasing to the original SE fanbase or market since it doesnt have that much to do with mobile phones (other than the option to send data directly to the photo frame from an SE handset). Confusing times. Moreover, if its true then its quite worrying that SE seem to be looking for alternative ways of making money. What theyre best at is making quality mobile phones. I dont see them producing that many these days.

@Muhammad-Oli
I agree, it would be silly or should I foolish of them to go about the way they are if there's nothing to offer. However, everything about SE these days is just as confused, so much so that they regard the W902 as ''high end''. I am limiting myself to those aforementioned phones cause I just don't trust them anymore.
@Tigershark
It is indeed sad that they've resorted to that kind of business if they have of course taken that route. I hope not.

"Tougher market conditions"? They can't even analyze the problem correctly...
A 97% drop in revenue is not the general trend, it's SE specific and we know why.
If SE sticks to current design team and management there's definitely no hope for them.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

True - I hope the C905 is to SEMC, what the Ford Focus was to FMC - a bloody saviour.
