R2M is actually just R2L renamed.
R2Y and R2AA are development releases that are not available to the general public. The next official firmware will incorporate the changes present in these releases. |

a slightly bit of topic, but... it seems that K700 and K/F500 are on the same software... I just updated my wife’s F500i to R2V001 (MP3 can be used as ring tones now) as latest release... in earlier releases there where the same bugs as in K700.
Can someone confirm that 700 and 500 are running the same software with different functionality (screen size, Bluetooth...)?
If this is the case we can rename this thread to K700 & K(F)500 firmware overview...
Take care

Ok, i've renamed the title of the post. I think I may do this for the T610 Overview too
I have also noted that R2V (Vodaphone specific) allows DRM MP3s to be used as ringtones. |

I'm on the Voda network - BOOO! I've now had my k700i unlocked and i've now used DRM to set my mp3 as ringtones. Yea!
but does any1 know if and when voda will bring out any sw that will allow standard mp3's as ringtones? if so whats it called? |

I doubt that Vodaphone would have gone to the trouble of customising the phone to PREVENT the use of unmanaged MP3s as ringtones to only go and remove that feature in a new firmware.
The first Voda firmwares were strict in that they didn't allow ANY MP3 to be used as a ringtone. R2V fixes this so that DRM MP3s can be used. I think this is as good as it will ever get for Vodaphone users - unless they unbrand their phone. |

this is my second repost, please clarify....
@mwarner:
>*<<*<* is the key sequence to findout the firmware version info as we all know...now if u have camera shortcut assigned to the first key sequence i.e. > ur software info will not show you the camera sw version neither ur Main Display test will able perform its test properly...this is what happening to my phone after R2L....i am very much sure that it was not the case when i was having R2A (correct me if i am wrong)

@vineet_d
I have tried that on an R2A phone and you can access the service menu when the right shortcut is set to Camera.

Vodafone branded k700i - I did the SE online update just before and got R2n001 firmware updated. They must have allowed it to update now !!!
Still, is the shutter sound able to be muted at all?? |

Can anyone else confirm that Vodaphone is now supported through the Online Update? |

listen, even if its updated, i wont b satisfied. cos i still will hafta look at those gay ass icons vodafone have put on. and still wont b able to use mp3s as ringtones.
the best thing to do is to buy yourself a t28 cable from faceofmobiles.com, buy a credit and download the multiserver 1.25 debranding software that will get rid of all the vodafone crap and update yourfone at the same time!
visit these sites : www.totalserver.net for the program dwnload and instructions, and:
www.faceoffmobiles.com for the cable and credit!
that ll show the vodafone ppl .
truly yours

Hi,
I didn't try with K700 but I tried with F500 (it should work right - maybe someone can try to update K500 online) and I got the famous message... Your operator does not support use of this service...
HTH, Take care

Does anyone know anything about R2AA other than the three lines posted about it earlier on, ie is it on the sony ericsson site, is it officially released. Also has anyone had any problems updating a debranded o2 k700 with online update, i know its worked for a few ppl on here, has anyone had problems? I'm asking the question in here because people kept linking me to stuff i already knew and my thread was locked. Please do me a favour if you dont know anything dont post. If you do and you want to be helpfull rather than have a moan please tell me the info you know.
Esato is normally a nice place. I appreciate people all two often dont search or read whats there, i have but i want to know if anyone knows anything more.
Cheers
