@jojo: i'll be happy to tell some stories when i have something interesting to say. Most of my days consist of work. We're on our way to the church now.

@kimcheeboi - As I have said before mate, and I will reiterate it again now, I make my day-night and my night-day! That's why I just can afford to stay awake during these wee hours of the morning (my place). Maybe @laffen can make me esato's perennial security guard loaded with high-powered ammos - like the 'samurai' and 'balisong' !

@gelfen - On your way to the Church ! I thought back there that the wedding ceremonies will take place by December of this year Why sudden change of plans -mate Well, then tell some stories transpiring from your day-to-day at the office, say, the kind of food you had for the day/week, the number of fabulous lads you get to meet for the day/week and the number of quarrel- episodes/lover's quarrel you had with your 'future-wife' etc. Have a nice day mate!

we went to the church to see the vicar about the "test results". apparently there are four types of couples in the world:

1. Conflicting - those who shouldn't be together in the first place because they don't really like each other
2. Traditional - those who have 1950s expectations and values wrt marital roles in the home (i.e. male breadwinner, mum at home with the kids), and acceptance of these values.
3. Harmonious - hearts and flowers, no realisitic expectations
4. Vitalised - although sounds like something you get out of a blender it's actually the best one to be (it means you're on the ball wrt your relationship and communicating with each other).

apparently we were "vitalised" with many "strength areas" and very few "potential growth areas" (i.e. weaknesses). supposedly we were so good as to be off the charts in a couple of areas, and our growth areas (does that mean i get a share portfolio?) were largely due to differing interpretations of the question.

btw - it's my birthday on wednesday (the 30th). not really looking forward to it.

@gelfen - I guess I'm on the 'harmonious' type
The 'vitalised' type looks more like an 'active-sexual-partner' thing to me mate

Surprise....surprise

@gelfen - even though you're not looking forward to it - happy birthday for the 30th! I think you do eventually get to an age where you stop celebrating birthdays as much - I think I'm reaching that age

'vitalised' - sounds like a something out of a hair or cosmetics advert!!

I'd like to think I'm in that category, but only my fiance could answer that one!!

it's not my age that bothers me about my birthday. it's that this will be the first birthday without my mum, who passed away last august.

Sorry for your mother Gelf, Its amazing that we realise how much someone meant to us only when they leave us. As I read somewhere as a gardner plucks the best flower in his gardent to decorate his house god plucks the good people to decorate his home. Happy birthday in advance

@Gelfen
I'm very sorry to hear that.

I had a similar situation. In Christmas all my family would gather for 3/4 days.
But almost every year is getting more difficult, when we remember my uncle, my grand-mom and specially my little cousin who passed away with only 19 years old.
They were gone in different years and so the pain was reinforced every couple of years... [addsig]

Yes, sorry to hear about that @gelfen. It's coming up to the first anniversary of a close friend of mine's dad's death in a car accident, I hope he's going to be OK.

Looks like @gelfen's thread is turning into 'loved ones-sympathy-thread' Well, my deepest condolences (belated) goes out to @gelfen and @kruback back there

@sammy_boy - 'Hope that your friend's Dad recovers in no time mate !

@gelfen - It would have been better if your Mom will be able to come to your wedding this December, mostly, to be able to attend your birthday celebration today - June 30th Happy many returns - mate!
