I don't like it, i think it's basically a square W890i. |

5 years later, screen size hasn`t changed that much at all.

I think the large space above the screen is to reflect the look of the T610i which also has a large space there. Also, the screen size isn't huge because its obviously only a mid-end phone really.
I am a little bit torn over what I think of it. I bet it will look nicer once we see some more pictures. I think the D-pad and surrounding buttons should be black like the T610i.

@Oli
I agree - although, the compact from factor suits it well - not too sure about the keypad, I would have liked to have seen T650i-esque buttons, not a keypad ripped straight from the W890i!

Is there going to be a CS version of W890i allso? Like with W880i, T650i and K770i? (though i don't see what that phones have to do with each other ) |

Very nice. Its easy to see how they have purposely tried to replicate the proportions of the original - hence the large space around the display.
Although they could have easily included a couple of other 'nods' to the original such as as smaller black space on the back and making it a bit 'rounder', the original T was comfortable to hold.
Good effort though. Will there be a red a blue version? Has the codename been posted yet?

I've made up my mind.
There's only 2 things about the phone that remind me of the T610i:
1. The black/silver colour scheme. But its not even done the same as the T610i, so its disappointing. And besides, we have seen the colour scheme on the T280i and T650i now so the revival but not revival thing is nothing new.
2. The large gap between the top of the phone and the top of the screen. Nothing major, and not many will notice it.
So overall, I find this a disappointing revival. The T610i was on top of its game when it came out, so surely a successor should be too. Something like the C905 specs in this but a bit thicker, now that'd work. This though... This is just mid-end generic-ness. Then there's the fact that its really a debranded W890i in a different shell - That shows that haven't made much of an effort to make this special. The T610i was a special phone. An classic, and it deserves better.

I don't like the design, its too square. I wish there was a bit more effort put into this phone. The T650 is nice so why not just give that an update with better buttons.
seems to take around 6 months to release a phone after its announcement therefore, if there are to be more phones released this year; we should be expecting an announcement soon.
The X1 and C905 are the only phones that I remember being announced, completely forget what the others are which means some high end phones are due. |

Hey,
What do you guys think will be 007's new handset in 'Quantum of Solace'?
After all, we have seen Ericsson/Sony Ericsson products in the movies ever since Tomorrow never dies!
in casino royale, k800 was 'the' james bond phone. At that time, was pushing the advertisement of k800 (since k800 was the 1st cybershot)
i have two guesses: the 'it' phone of Bond can be C905 (for this year is regaining the cybershot glory) or xperia (the 1st WM high end device)

This new phone, to me, precisely highlights whats currently wrong with SE. SE is still the best manufacturer for overall product quality in my opinion. But what other than that is there to make us buy an SE phone? They used to have this wow factor about them. Like my old K700i, first cameraphone with passable VGA stills, K750i, great 2 MPx stills, way ahead of the competition, W800i, first real music-minded phone, untouchable in terms of playback capabilites at the time, and it still had a cam like the K750i. In my opinion the best all rounder at the time. Thats my point. More than anything, I chose SE because not only were they ahead of the competition, but they did it with style and they were innovators.
I see no innovation at all anymore in the majority of SE handsets. X1 is all thats come around lately that really does bring something new to the table. That, and I suppose the C905 which has Wifi in it now. But the cam brings little new compared to the K850, nothing you will actually use, nothing necessary. The cam itself, as a step up representing a year's progress, is fairly poor without optical zoom. Thats not innovation, so its not worth my money. SE need something more revolutionary than rehashed solutions, and they need it fast.
Theyre missing the point about quality and not quantity. They can release 1000 phones a year if they feel like it, but if I dont see anything good in any of them, then all that choice is for nothing. N95/N96, iphone/iphone 3G are selling/will sell like hot cakes, and theres nothing from SE to compete directly with either one. They arent going to become a top 3 manufacturer without stepping up to the competition. Their lack of profits agrees with me.

Is that really going to be called a T610 ??? Its a nice phone but i don't think SE should badge it as a T610.Some people around here where i live still use the original T610.

I doubt it will have the same name. And its hardly even a T610i revival. Not in spirit, not in spec, not even in looks - other than colour scheme. It will probably be a T series, but not T610i.
