PK, will you be able to let us know whether its cancelled or not?
Great Qs Mizz!
I hate the way SE go about answering questions though. Its like talking literally to an answering machine. No matter what you ask the response is always the same. Youd think they would be abit more animated and interested in their own product as to even so much as hint at something to look forward to, or suggest something they may have heard theyre not sure on, for example. But no. Its all 'we make products to suit the whole market', 'we cant talk about that' 'we cant talk about that', 'same stereotype answer about experiences' (well so far, my goods havent been delivered, so horrible experience from them). They all sound the same lol. Sometimes I wonder if SE implants an m2 into employees arms containing default boring answers to everything.

Yes! Reading it feels like hearing someone speaking to a wall. SE seems to be among the most robotic in these situations. I remember reading a Q and A with a HTC representative a couple of weeks ago, and boy were his answers vivid, enthusiastic and expressing a wish to actually communicate something compared to what often seems to be the case with the SE guys. It's as if they are so defensive they can't afford to let the guard down for a split second...
Anyway thanks Mizzle for the effort - and for all of the info before the announcement.

If there is no high end UIQ smartphone from SE released this year then my next bet would be an android phone...its quite sad |

Android phone when it comes out will be very formidable. If se didn't have uiq they'd do great designing a phone for android.
Looks like this thread will be quiet for awhile |

I tell you what would be funny, is if Se in the announcement they're suppose to make next week, announce they have sold the rest of Uiq to Motorola.
I think its best that Paris and beibei are cancelled, quite decieving in that they look like phones that would be high spec.

what if...... *drums* SE used s60 in their smart phones? *gasps*
if SE improved the s60 UI, made it more appealing, i bet people will prefer the SE's to nokia, thats only if they didn't compromise the features and stay ahead, or atleast with the others in terms of technology! |

Hope that NEVER happens. That would make me never buy SE again.
Anyway, SE leaving UIQ, not gonna happen at least now. I said before, g900 will be the most sold uiq device ever, and both with g700 is the best thing that happened to uiq in a long time.
0n other hand, paris/beibei canceled or not - not a big deal. There will be new uiq devices anyway, and if this means they will use newer hardware solutions, then its for the better..

@Ramintop
My buddy from Nokia says that their touch devices will be very nice to use and very finger friendly indeed. The N series phones are good to use anyway but with touch control, it should be great. He also says that they are trying to cram in as much technology as possible so it does everything like the N95/N96.
SE needs to start making all rounder devices as well, UIQ is good anyway so start making more devices like the G900. SE are deliberately holding back on some of their phones, I understand they have a market strategy but some things like good video recording should be added in Cybershot phones. AF and flash should be on all of their +2MP phones (adding a little LED would not hurt anyone). |

Are you insane? 3G iPhone has touchscreen with multitouch, safari web browser, 16GB storage, accelerometer, and you can expand functionality by adding new apps. Its also almost half the thickness of the C905.
Don't get me wrong the C905 sounds great for what it is a high end feature phone. It is not a smart phone, though, and to compare it to the iPhone is not really fair. If all you want is a phone with a great camera then you can't beat the C905, so if that is your criteria then yes, it beats the iPhone, but only in the area you care about.
Why in the world would SE release the C905 with only QVGA video recording? Have you seen an N82 or N95? Full VGA video? Jeez. I don't get it.
And I totally agree, iPhone is for an entirely different audience. You can't really compare just as to say "C905 kills iPhone" is a total joke. C905 has phone and camera features iPhone can't touch. iPhone has multimedia and usability features C905 would kill for. C905 is for the high-end phone freak and camera lover. iPhone is a smartphone for the masses.
I'm pretty disappointed about the no P-phone.
Also I was just checking out SE's C905 web page. It only lists 850 and 2100 bands for HSDPA, in other words, no US support as AT&T is currently only using the 1900 band for HSDPA.
The website is wrong. It is 850/1900/2100. Probably will be fixed overnight.
