I definitely wouldnt call this reaching new heights. If anything, all theyve really done is climb up to where everyone else was before. Those 3 extra megapixels could make the consumers' heads turn, but it wont make for any huge step in quality, so its not a new height. This is very strange. The surprise is that there isnt anything to surprise us. |

It's all up to higher management to cancel a phone and they can surely do it close to announcement.
We just have to hope that something better comes along instead of a P1 with makeup.
My guess is that X1 is SE flagship for now and that they don't want to present anything that is better before its release. Although a Paris with better specs than we know could fit right in.

If I worked at SE R&D I would be furiously pissed off. These people are engineers, designers and researchers putting a hell of a lot of work into developing new things and ensuring they will run smoothly for the sake of their employer. Then some guy in some high place decides to postpone (or even cancel?) the announcement of these devices. Its definitely perplexing, irritating and dissappointing.
But hey, I am jumping to conclusions. Maybe they had a very valid reason to postpone this due to some sort of functional limitations. After all, we do want things to run smoothly, we dont want to see another P990 fiasco at the end of the day. But still, Id love to know what all this is about.

Hmm, the whole thing has lost it's appeal for me now. My contract was up for renewal last month and I waited for the P1i successor and it didn't happen. I've owned phones since the K700i but now I think I'm going to get a free F480 and hang on to my P1 until next year and hope for something good in Q2 2009.
Even the X1 still hasn't seen release yet after a Feb announcement, I'm just not willing to wait for something that might not happen now.

Thats a kick in the nuts. I bet some of you wished you had revised for your exams. Those who stayed up late, don't drive when tired. Well, it was said that Paris and Beibei were not being announced so no complaints.
My only gripe is that everyone else is releasing smartphones while SE is being slow about it. Nokia have loads of N series phones with excellent cameras and a good UI, there is a lot of choice there. SE have 2 G phones which are almost the same and the X1, still not released.
Are any of the testers in the know about the Java video phone? Does it exist for starters? If you say something very much like it exists and will be actually released whenever, I'll be happy. I am eagerly awaiting the next Xperia (hopefully UIQ) and the W960 successor, don't let me down SE. |

I will stick with P1i for a couple of months more, but I do not see any alternative product to get if there will be no P10 announced by that time... |

Quite a lot has been said about the Japanese look and feel of the C905. Is there any hope or possibly confirmation that it will be manufactured in Japan just like W900 was the famed all rounder just a one-off Nihonjin?
PK, Phoner, m-one, Mizzle, anyone?
Cheers! |

Obviously you've spoken to other SE employees, PK. Does anyone know whether or not these phones we are missing are canceled, or are they just postponed?
I guess that seeing R&D are confused about this too, that means they aren't postponed for further development. There has to be other reasons!

i don't understand why is a long wait from announcement to launch!
and i donīt understand why other manufacturers launch so many phones with high technology in a short period of time (HTC, Nokia, even Samsung!)
why do we have to wait so long??? ( the last good high-end smartphone from SE was the P910) |
