I thought you were depressed because the end of the world is nigh?

I hope you're joking, there are plenty more depressing reasons to get depressed!

Hey buddy.. The world will end one day maybe today maybe tomorrow maybe in a zillion years from now..That doesnt depress me and neither my having a old nokia phone does...All i want to say that we have but one life..Let us enjoy it but responsibly...Why waste it with useless things like depression...And at the same time...we being the citizens of this world.. Let us all put in whatever small but meaningful effort we can to make sure that each day for infinite no of days from today we are able to enjoy and share the wonderful gifts of mother earth...So guys why be depressed...Spread the smile..Spread peace...Spread love

M_R - that's more like it! Very true, people do seem to get depressed very easily these days, though there are also very good reasons to be depressed, and also clinical reasons too.

And everyone doing their own small bit - by recycling, walking instead of taking the car for small journeys, etc. is how to beat climate change and feel less guilty about polluting the planet! If everyone thought that way (including that idiot Bush) we'd soon have greenhouse gases, waste, etc. under control!

But, I'm going off topic here. @Ayush, are you feeling any better today? Has the argument between you and your dad been resolved yet?

Depression is a chemical inbalance or a state of mind.

You need to either see a Doctor or stop thinking negatively, become a Christian! I used to know loadsa depressed people that became Christians and found their life was much better having a purpose, they entered a community, went on outreaches to poorer countries, made new friends, got married and had a whole lot going for them. Sorry to hear the argument hasn't been resolved. I don't mean to pry, but what was the argument about? Can any kind of compromise be reached?

I'm pretty good, btw. Nearly finished my psychiatric nursing training, got a job lined up already and looking at a house, put an offer in for it. For once things seem to be all falling into place nicely!

Don't worry if things seem a bit hopeless at the moment. It may take a while, and have a few false dawns, but things will get better, and although it may not feel like it at the moment, things should get better between you and your dad. Try to sort out a compromise between you if you can

@Sammy sorry for the late reply...how are u?

Things will remail the same between us. It'll never change. I don't want it to change. I hate him for all that he's done in the past. He just doesnt understand me now. He hardly knows me. We hardly talk. Hardly do anything together. I don't care. I'm just close to mom and sis.

@scotsboy vanquish started it...

@ayush - a lot of that sounds familiar with my dad - we never generally argued, but just have nothing in common, and he didn't really encourage me! Don't see him that much now, even though he only lives a few miles away now.
