Hi I have a solution.
I had a problem with my t630 joystick to. It did not respond at all loads of times.
Well I ran to the store bought WD40 (loads of other stuff you can use that to like crackling volume controls.).
You open your phone:

the top is the hardest to open.
With a screw driver you just lift it up a bit. Now SLIDE the top of.
once you know it is easy.
For the rest remove the keyboard and the joystick button. Now drop a couple of drops onto your joystick and press and play with it for a bit so the WD40 can sink in. Clean up all the mess on the side so that it is good and dry.
After 20 minutes put back together your phone again and for me it worked like a charm again. Like it was new.
PLease note that I am not responsible for any broken phones trying this out. I think it is safe and for me it worked perfectly. But be carefull with spilling wd40 as it is conductive. Also do not USE the CAN spray. Spray a bit on a stick so you can make small drops and put that on the joystick....

i rather bring it in a service and let it fix by experts. so if sg goes wrong, they have the responsibility. its the best solution imho...

For people who dont like the deep design of the K700's joystick, this is what i did, I removed the joystick and put some tiny aluminum strip inside the removed plastic joy (the part that comes out) and put it back, this way the joystick is higher, the more stips you put the higher it will be, so you can do it as you like. It also helped in greatly reducing the laziness of it since it is now moved farther.
The strips I used were from from medicine wrappers, thoses aluminum things were pills will be inside before using, just cut using scissors small pieces to fit in the joy.

Please excuse the thread revival, I thought it better to revive this rather than start a new thread!
I have a K700i which I am going to replace the screen on. This isn't the problem, the problem is the joystick can be a bit unresponsive, especially going down or right. The phone seems to have had a fairly hard life and use. It is still the same in the service menu. I've had the phone apart and given the internals a good clean (including round the joystick) and it's still more or less the same.
Firstly, has anyone tried this WD40 trick? Does it work? Has it damaged the phone at all in any way?
Also, does the trick of putting foil or something into the plastic removeable part of the joystick to 'build' it up actually work or make a difference?
Anything else I could do, apart from get the joystick replaced, which is beyond my skills, and the phone is out of warranty (and bought secondhand off Ebay, no reciept anyway)

I'm now having the same problem with my k700 joystick, and it is out of warranty 
I cleaned all the dust out but it's still hard to go down or right.
I wonder how much the SE service centre would charge to fix it? |
