Sadly, until now(i hope i am wrong), it appears that the only way to get the p900 camcoder to work with p800 is to have the source code &modify it.Since SE will never publish it , it is very hard to make it work on p800.But in the end, i am only a novice in C++ programming and i don't have an idea on Symbian programming only Windows and DOS.So i really hope that i am wrong and Sweet can make it.
Cheers,

Absolutely. Only SE have it.

True again. SE, however, can (theoretically) decide to include the CommuniCorder in a future firmware upgrade for the P800. I don't know what's the probability of this decision, but I'm sure it 10 magnitudes more probable than Sweetheart (or anyone else) succeeding with hacking this one.
Another relevant info from an SE Developer Support representative:
"The Communicorder is not compatible with the P800, the hardware doesn`t support its requirements."
He might be wrong, or may be the software could be modified (at source code level!) to accommodate the P800. Or - he may be right. |

Totally agree with u and i am almost certain that a camcoder CAN work with the p800 if SE would release one, coz the leaked beta one did work..

The Beta one was not SE but Philips.... and they are still working on a software for video wich don't use the API from the P8/900, it seems to be a very bad API and that's why they developped another system.
Some guys i know did saw something on a stand from philips last week, seems to be a the new video-software and it seems to be great, even much better then the one on the P900 (wich sucks!) |

Any idea which branch/software section of Philips? Can you find out? As a journalist in the industry I might be able to pull a few favours once I start talking to the right people. At the very least I could try out what they've developed and report back.

@blue, are u sure that Philips has another camcorder for P800? I can't wait...i will pay alot for this software if it ever comes out, developers should know that this will be a best seller !

I am not sure. i just reported what a friend said he saw and heard on a Symbian Official Meeting.
Someone from Philips talked and showed, during a speach, a P800 running a VideoSoftware. He said they didn't used teh API from SE because it was to bad, they used a 16 frame/second video capture.
It was, he said, much better then the (bad)quality that SE offers in their P900 and it also will be available for him....
Now, if that's really true, i don't know but i believe my friend. And if Philips will take that software out, nobody knows, i sure don't loll |

@blue8300
i know philips develop the leaked version and not SE, maybe the comparaison i used wasn't right i did meant that if a camcorder program ( whatever the company that develop it ) can run on a p800 , then the one supplied with the p900 if modified can work on a p800

Honestly, after everybody started spreading the leaked beta, phillips may just decide to NOT make it for the P800/P900 anymore!!! Just to get their own back!!! |

Take a look at the flash animation in the bottom. There is a p800 in it. Meaning that maby there is a developed and ready comnicoder. My guess is that they need an agreement with SE.
