Sorry for the late reply. Please expect slower reply from me these days, i'm kinda busy with my work
Btw, i hope other fellow users could assit me in answer the queries here. Thaks in advance.
@kayla
1. the url is in the very first post of this thread, anyway, here you go: http://eflame.com/fma
2. I can't really recommend anyone coz i have not been using all of them, personally i'm satisfy with my TDK PCMCIA
@ibiwalliser
I didn't actually test it on Win98se myself but i expect lacking of Unicode support coz' Win98se does not support Unicode, that means you can't sent UCS2 based SMS. Other than that, you will be missing the semi-transparent window which is not important.
hmm... what else...?
@takkyhide
Could you please email me an example SMS that with will yield "Encoding Error"? Please includes the destination number.
@Merkur
Thanks for letting me know, could you give me more detail? I presume when you have more phone connect to the PC, each of them will be hosted on different serial port...
Cheers,
floAt

@T_Virus
Please provide more info: what is the full error message, OS etc
Could it be related to the script control issue? Try to read the previous post in this thread.

Here are more details:
My equipment:
HP OmniBook vt6200 (1.7 GHz!!! )
Windows XP pro
Nokia DTL4 Bluetooth Connectivity card
Ericsson R520
SonyEricsson T68i
If I connect the R520 to the DUN Profile and connect to the Internet via GPRS and then connet the T68i to the serial port profile and then connect the Mobile Agent it will show "Connected" on the status bar but when I try downloading the phonebook it will disconnect. If however I connect the T68i first and then the Mobile Agent it will work fine but not the Internet on the R520.
I think this has nothing to do with the software itself. I think this is probably the fact that the Bluetooth card is able to connect to more than one devices at a time but it does not support simultaneous data transfer from more than one device.
The Mobile Agent works great when I only have one BT connection active. If I connect another phone to the Mobile Agent, what will it do?
I think the Mobile Agent is much better than the Ericsson sw when using a T68i so keep up the good work! |

When FMA is running in the background, I can't connect to GPRS. I think this has something to do with FMA not sharing the comm port with other apps.
Is there anything you can do about it, or it's the OS that handles this.
I don't have IR, so I use a data cable instead. No BT yet. |

@Merkur/GOwin/619,
Simple question: can you guys use GPRS while using MPM based software? (eg. XTNDConnectPC/Ericsson's PBTM) or vise-versa?
I don't have GPRS so didn't see this as a problem, but i'm really doubt if i can do anything about it, except maybe have the option to disconnect after each activity but there will be no monitoring.

float, mercur, gowin, 619,
using the cable i am not able to use GPRS *and* MPM (PBTM, MyPictures, SendFile, etc) at the same time. and i think that's how it is, because they're using the same COM port.
however, using bluetooth, i can use GPRS *and* MPM at the same time. reason is my GPRS is on COM7 and MPM uses COM6.

I'm new to all this and simply wanted to synchronise my T68 / Outlook calendars and to use T68 as modem for Outlook email when I'm mobile (otherwise I plug in to ADSL). Problem is I can't connect using the XTND downloaded from Ericsson's site. Ericsson told me it's 'cos I'm on XP, and they can't help (yet?) so referred me (unoffocially) to esato and this forum.
I've read all 7 pages of this string, tried float's software, but cannot connect (using bt).
As a non-techy, what can I do other than wait for Ericsson???? |

@igloo
First of all, this thread itself is all about FMA and it's not what you're looking for. FMA does not syncronize with Outlook (at least not yet)
I'm on XP, and can use all ericsson's software without problem, especially their latest release. For information on different software packages to download, check out this thread:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=3497&forum=17
You'll also want to search the whole forum using the keywork such as "XP Sync Problem", as well as post a new topic in this forum to seek more "non-techy" help, you will need to includes your BT card model to be more specific.
Btw, for my BT card (TDK) i have to explicitly "connect" the port each time before i can use any MPM based software (such as XTNDConnectPC)
About FMA, if you want to make it work (but it didn't serve your purpose on Sync'ing outlook), you should find out which port your bluetooth is Serial Port Profile is in and configure FMA to that port. You might want to enable RTS flow control in the Option menu too.
Personally i find that Bluetooth and Ericsson's software (even mine) are not that user friendly to the non-techie, so be patient
Good luck.
Cheers,
floAt
