Grrrrrrrr
All this dust on the inside. No tissues in my pocket, and whenever I'm at home or at work, the phone is not in my pocket.
So, invalidate warranty by opening it up to clean it?

Yes! I put it back, just "taking a photo" with my eye at initial position, and then was easier to fit back on same place.
Is not that annoying, just I feel my phone protected ...someway. But if there I find dust again, I will take over that bag.

hhhmmmmmm...YOUR LOCAL WORKSHOP FIX IT FOR FREE...it goes under the warranty......(I/we have allready ask support, and they confirmed that it goes under the warranty)
so instead to open it yourself AND BREAK THE WARRANTY, go to your workshop and everything will be OK.....

Plank,
I have called my "local" service centre (it is quite a long way away) and they want the phone for...
3 weeks! |

3 weeks ????? jesus...2 guys here on esato fix it in my hometown..it took 3 hours and it was free of course....
the most important if you do it yourself, is to use this to clean off the dust
that was workshop use...no paper, just pure, strong air.

Plank,
I have had no luck with SE service. Everything they do takes 3 weeks. After a couple of bad SE phones I moved away from SE. I then took a chance and came back, but I have had enough of SE "service".
Have a read:

3 weeks!!
I sent my phone off yesterday, hope it doesn't take it that long to come back.
If it eventually does come back it better not get loadsa dust under it again after 2 weeks.
Otherwise, what a waste of money!

As an update, I sent my dusty K850i in to the service center on the advice from someone of the SE helpdesk. After having the phone for almost 3 !!!! weeks I got it back all cleaned up.
But guess what! .... 2 days of use and odd bits of dust have found there way back under the lens, what a pile of ****.
You'd have thought that they'd be able to *fix* the problem rather than just clean it. What am I supposed to do send it in for repair every couple of months. I paid £250 for this phone, surely they should be looking after their customers better than this, I'm really pi$$ed off about it.
Looks like im going to have to find out a way of doing this myself.
Has anyone else got any experience of this?
thanks for listening, rant over. |

This phone is such a pile of shite!
I hate it, i hate the phone companies who say there is no problem with the firmware etc and i hate the phone for having so many faults.
I will never get a SE again its annoying im in an 18month contract and to get it sorted i have to post the phone to SE and then im without a phone!
Why cant they just recall it then we can get our money back and get a diff make, i.e nokia.
Ive got so much dust under my lens its unbelievable and the hoover doesnt remove it all.
Its affecting pics and i get white specs on my pictures where the dust is. |

Try a vaccum cleaner through the speaker on the back, or the battery slot on the bottom. Cant say ive tryed it on a K850, but used it for my other phones to get dust out. |

may you please post pics of your phone now without the lens cover? and is the mechanical shutter strong enough or is it soft or something? |

Here you go guys,
The ACTUAL shutter is made from a durable plastic, very strong, and as it is not flush with the rear of the phone, it is protected - after all; if one looks at a Digital camera, 99.9% of the time, it is just like my K850i!
Enjoy
