The IMEI on the old phone was (first part removed) 032674-8
The new one, which is FAR more responsive ends 031629-3
So, going by that, it seems the new one is an earlier production model.
What this seems to suggest is the build quality varies quite a bit, which is worrying! On the old one the touch-keys were not responsive at times, but this seems fine all the time (perhaps the odd delay, but that seems to be down to the phone playing catch up).
Mine that is faulty is 061701
Which is a lot higher.
See what i get tomorrow. (Hopefully a better one)
Still like the phone tho.
Been using my W300i for last few days. Never lets me down even when its been in a glass of wine !! Druken phone.
Dropped on the phone and parts are stuck with tape (Bless)

No problems with media->pictures here. In fact, the only problem with both of mine is rubbish flash photography. The fact it affects both of them leads me to believe that its a genuine model wide firmware problem.
I can't understand why some people's phones have major problems yet others don't. The phones that have these problems must have not been QA'd, and part of the stack-em and pack-em initial phase of rush demand fulfilment.
It's a shame that SEUS can't be forced to re-flash the same firmware like the Nokia Update Service - i'm sure that would solve quite a few peoples problems on here, and save SE some cash in the process.

My K850i's IMEI ends in 040400-8-01
The Media->Pictures restart problem occured once and I had to Master Reset.
Other than that everything works very well, no problems with Touch Keys or Camera.
There is the occasional Media trash after a lot of continuous picture browsing (memory management in that app sucks big time) but it clears up either by just exiting the app or by restarting the phone.
Pretty happy with the phone so far...

Well, I've managed to break my phone again (Yes, I decided to go and actually USE it)! The file structure is still fine, and I can play games etc, but if I now go to send/receive my email (using Gmail - a secure/SSL connection) it reboots.
I'll try and reset the settings first, then delete/re-add the account but I don't fancy a full reset!
Another couple of bugs;
1) The PC software won't do a full backup. It does everything, but fails on one of the Internet bookmarks. No idea which one, although I suspect it's one that has characters the phone doesn't like (for example, a name with : gets changed to _ on the phone, and I've transferred bookmarks from my PC so they've probably not been renamed). Workaround; deselect bookmarks or rename them all. Not a major bug, but would be if you used the browser heavily with loads of favourites.
2) You can't use this, or the W910i, with both a Bluetooth headset AND the Bluetooth watch. Well, you can, but it takes about 5 seconds to start streaming the audio once it's sent the text to the watch. If there was a pause, you could just about accept it, but what you get is a terrible stuttering.
3) When you adjust the audio with the headset, you get clicking/static noises. I haven't heard this since the W800i!

Didn't the k800i's initial launch also had these problems???? Then it's initial firmware upgrade had a HUGE impact on the stability on the phone. I say give them some time to develop the upgrade. I place my trust on JP8.

I agree. Give SE some time and this phone will be just fine.
It is as you say the K800i had the same problems in the beginning. |

Well I got my new phone, Which i have to admit feels very different to the old one.
The middle button is tons more responsive and the phone feels more solid.
I have found one more bug in the firmware tho, this was on my other phone but i forgot to add it.
When you place a birthday date in the person details, you dont get a choice to add it to the callender or set a reminder with it.
I use some phone explorer with the phone and added all the birthdays on the callendar manual and even tho they are now set, they still dont show in the callendar on the phone. So if they go of thats another matter.
So if you use your phone for birthdays, Just remember that currenlty on the k850i they dont show. |

O2.
I have added them into the phone contact, which only allows me to save the contact.
However on the old K series, when you added a birthday into the contact when you clicked on it, it said do you want to add this to the callendar.
With the K850 i dont get that option.
Even adding them on the computer and sync them to the phone, I still dont see them. but they are there |

Had the phone in both auto and night portrait mode tonight, in a dark bar, and took about six pictures where the flash fired early, leaving me with a totally black image! As usual, the sensor/flash was NOT covered in any way (re. leaflet that shows you how to hold the camera).
In a couple of other cases, the flash didn't charge/fire at all - again, leaving me with a totally black image, save for a few over amplified pixels of light.
Oh dear. It's a Cyber-shot cameraphone, but you can't even be sure it will take a photo properly at all!
