No, none were ever carrier supported.... I got them all directly from nokia back in the day.... you used to actually be able to just order from nokiausa.com.

That stopped around the time of the 808 which I ordered from Amazon. My 1020 is the 1st carrier device I have purchased since my C905a. [addsig]

No carriers but they were sold unlocked unbranded by Amazon USA and Expansys.

Just sold my 808. Will put a bit more and get the Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon. A friend told me Verizon phones have a sim card slot and that sim is unlocked to any carrier outside USA.

He is using a Lumia 928 (VRZN) in Orange Spain.

The Lumia Icon is US$550 which is like £330 (cheaper than the 1520 and the 1020). I can go for that.

You sold the 808 ?

The icon seems like a very good phone. Its smaller than the 1520 and it has the same exact camera, which is a good thing.

I didn't know that Verizon phones work with other carriers outside of the US... I guess they don't want ATT users using their phones here.

^ 441 ppi ... that must be the best Nokia screen thus far, at least in terms of resolution.

I didn't like this part

"However, it’s not the brightest display we’ve come across. Just a smidgen shy of 300 nits, the display is difficult to view outdoors with the sun present – requiring us to shield it most of the time. "

The 808 still remains top dog when it comes to outdoor visibility.

Nice...

I am yet to use a contract/locked device as my main phone Something tells me that my next device will have to be carrier branded tho... unfortunately.

Strangely I quite like it's square shape. Shame it's not in UK but maybe Nokia will release similar one internationally

We all know that Symbian is no more so imagine my surprise today when I received an update for the Foursquare app... Yup.... Foursquare pushed an update to a "dead" os, now v2.0.1016.

Kinda gives me hope that major developers were left some ability to still keep us diehards on our 808's for a bit longer.

Check inside the app and see if the version number corresponds to 2.0.1016 ... mine still says its the old version despite updating the app

Its a keeper I still have my N8 and don't plan on selling it.. I will probably do the same with the 808. Its kind of hard to keep phones around when they are just sitting there, but I think the 808 is special enough in terms of technology/innovation and its okay to keep.

There should be some good deals on ebay/amazon.. even an used one might be ok. Good luck!

That's odd... it shows 2.0.985 but Now the app lets me access the profile and app setting page which it never did before? bizzare
