Phones4u dont have any orange p900s in stock and are charging ridiculous prices on o2 and vodafone.
The Link dont have any in stock for another 2 weeks. Although in their catalogue the price has moved up from £49 to £249 on yp700.

1 - Can i do this same trick if i buy from Orange Shop. Will it say in the Orange shop contract i have to stay for a min period of 3 months.
2 - Also, how do i set the billing date to be from a specific date, ie if i puchase the phone tomo, how do i set it so that the billing date is the 10th of December.

1. orange shop price for a p900 is quite expensive I think (£249 on tariffs above £25?), although they dont charge clawback.

To return to the subject, I've had lots more chats with people at Orange, CPW and O2.
Fact is CPW has NO say in the length of time you stay on a talk plan with Orange. If you do, however, try to change your Orange talk plan with 4 months (one month in our case), they (Orange) may charge you for the extra cost of the phone (covered by paragraph 15 in Orange T+C). You can then terminate the contract under same T+C.
O2 will give you the P900 free on O2 400 (£45), but the friendly manager at the local O2 shop said that they will put a mark on your account so that if you try to you talk plan within 6 months, they will plain refuse. Sound like scare-mongering to me, but it is possible. So again with O2, there is no legal minimum time stipulated but they reserve the right not to transfer your plan.

Bought my P800 from Orange and changed after one month with no problem (a year ago).
Bought my P900 at CPW 3 weeks ago for £149.99 on £50 tariff & just dropped to my normal £16 Tariff with no problem. |

Both companies are contradicting each other, as they both deny that their company charges you anything, but still saying that the other might. ITS JUST A BIG SCAM DESIGNED TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF US ALL!

The Link need to be stopped from this "fake adverts" practice, they have been doing it for ages, they put a cheap & nasty home made photocopied sheet in the window offering a very good deal on the latest phone & it's NEVER available at any point during the day, it's a fake advert to get people in the shop, hopefully soon a consumer rights team will expose this behavour as false practice.

I would like to thank everyone in this forum for all their input regarding the P900
The wife after reading this thread decided to buy me the P900 after learning that O2 were giving the phone away FREE on the £45 a month tariff
So first thing this morning we went to O2 got the P900 FREE on £45 a month (he had 10 left) i then asked him regarding how long before i could downgrade the tariff and his actual words were "As soon as you receive all the documentation from O2 you can downgrade your tariff straight away" i asked him about O2 trying to get the money back for the P900 because i would be dropping the tariff so soon and he said "well their is nothing in your contract that says you have to stay on the same tariff for any fixed period so how can they get back what they havent asked for" So there you have it
Also i got the phone home put in my VODAPHONE sim card just to see if it would work and it does the phone is not locked
And i have managed to get £200 tomorrow for my P800
So to say that i am ecstatic is an understatement
ONCE AGAIN THANKS TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD
