I did notice that sync'ing with Outlook 2000 doesn't recursively go into folders. My contacts folder in Outlook has subfolders, and I thought the sync would recreate the same folder structure on the P800.

Nope, have to put all in root of contacts and afterwards one by one recategorize on the phone, rather annoying! Is this normal or am I forgetting something???

I have had the same problem. This used to happen with the Palm too. It was fixed in a later upgrade so let's hope that SE/Symbian do the same.It is tiresome or has someone got a better idea?

Mark > Mine is a swedish built phone,...I sure hope it doesnt have anything to do with it.

If this is the case, then it would be a disaster for sure.

I never had any problems with other phones from SE,..and the "language-upgrade" last time with P800 went well, no problems at all,..so it does seem a bit strange.

I'll just have to try again,..and it better work this time !

since i had my phone upgraded to R2D, it has 'hung' on me twice, but in a strange way.

the first time, i was checking my email, and when i was finished, i noticed that the internet icon at the bottom of the screen was still flashing as if it was downloading something. i tried to disconnect from the net but it wouldn't disconnect.

the second time, i just noticed that the phone's green LED was not flashing. what was strange about both instances was that other than the problems i mentioned, the phone seemed to be functioning ok. no white screen of death. BUT, in both cases, when i tried to power off the phone for a restart, the power off confirmation screen would not come on, therefore not allowing me to turn the phone off! so, i just held the power switch depressed for 10 sec or so. after the phone restarted, everything was ok once again.

strange occurences, but fortunately without any serious repercussions. so far...

Mark > BTW my Hardware reads R2A on the box.

Another danish guy got his P800 upgraded the same day as I did, and his phone is "older" than mine, and I believe also swedish, as he got it with swedish and english language, and swedish manual, just as I did.

The first upgrade for the P800 (the "language-upgrade") was no problem at all,..it worked right away.
So I have not been ahving any problems with the phone what so ever, exept for this upgrade.

And I havent even "overloaded" the phone with programs/software,.there hasnt been any problems with the phone at all,..batterytimes are great and so on.

regards

@lopio

i tried the cam's night mode, and it seems to be able to take pics in low light conditions. i wouldn't call it night vision tho.

having said that, i almost never use the cam nor am i really into photography so maybe someone else who does make use of the cam would be able to give you a better opinion.

The upgrade is very very buggy mine crashed about 20 times and i hadn't had that with R1D. The phone is slower than before.
And I have problems with the dutch language.
Sometimes when i'm using flip open mode and i close the flip the screen stays white and i have to open and clos it a few times until my bachground is back.Sometimes when I put my phone on ther is no background so i have to restart it again to get it t appear.
I hope there wil be an new firmware soon without all those bugs.

Brimme, mine has got zero problems. Try it with English for the time being. The (Dutch) language pack seems to screw up things with R2D.
Do a master reset and you should be fine.
Or visit me for a re-flash, that's even better.

Two customers who just have their p800 upgraded use english standard, and looking at the smiles on their faces they don't have troubles (yet)

@Mark.
I have my phone in english because after i restored my backup I saw that there where problems with the restored dutch languages. So I did a master reset and put the folder agenda mail and contact.cdb and cdversion.txt back. so my phone is in english now but it still gives some problems.Is it posible to flash again or wil there be problems then.?

MARk > Just spoke to a friend,..his P800 is exactly the same as mine, meaning built in Sweden (danish language) and HW version R2A,..his upgrade went well,..no problems at all.

So I assume that there was some sort of problem (maybe the SW itself on server at that certain time, or the Service point's tools) ??

I dont know,..just gonna try it again next week.

Brimme> same problems with R1D here but I took out "Quickstart" and no problems right now, so I think is not R2A the sw given problems....
