hi...
kanina i was using the phone as a modem, browsing using the gprs pero suddenly, parang naputol yung connection.
so naturally i have to dial-up again, pero to my surprise nakasulat sa status: GPRS: NO ACCESS, tapos yung gprs signal niya, walang laman... i am postpaid btw.
has anyone experienced this? helf...
ito na ba yung simula ng kawalan? may bayad na ba talaga???

either...
apn: www.globe.com.ph
ip : 192.40.100.7
or
apn: internet.globe.com.ph
ip : 203.127.225.10
or any of the above combination. |

i think it goes this way...
you have to make two data accounts... HINDI two profiles of wap ha...
isa para doon sa wap browsing: you have to use the apn: www.globe.com.ph
then ung isa para sa internet browsing (as modem, pda) using the apn: internet.globe.com.ph
attach mo sa profile ng wap yung may apn na "www"
pag mag connect ka naman as modem, use the cid number of the account with the apn of "internet"
that is my observation...
i still use the old ip, anyway that ip is just used for wap homepage ata...

Hello all,
When it comes to wireless, filipinos are the best i think. Anyway, I have some questions regarding my T68m (not upgraded), my brand new IPAQ 3870, and my GLOBE PREPAID account. Yes...im in prepaid.
How did i got gprs? Before there was no blue toolbar which indicates a GPRS signal on my T68. It seems Globe is blocking access to its GPRS network for PREPAID accounts. I followed a friends advice, to put a POSTPAID account on my T68. After i switched sim cards, my phone got GPRS activated. So i could do wap surfing using APN: www.globe.com.ph and IP:192.29.102.103.
I bonded my IPAQ 3870 and configured my DUN without a dial string command ( cgdont=1,"IP","www.globe.com.ph" or "internet.globe.com.ph"). Phone number is *99***N# where N is my CID on T68. Here are the results:
1. I could do MSN. Im not sure if MSN connects to port 80.
2. I could not surf. No http protocol. Does it mean, http protocol is blocked? Maybe because im in prepaid... but y do i have MSN.?
3. I could send email. SMTP should be 21, 22 or 25. I forgot the specific port. However I could not receive any emails.
Errrr have to go back to work. I would post again. Thank you all for reading my post.
Best Regards,
Rupert

Globe APN is limited to WAP surfing. You probably hit the MSN WAPsite so you had access on your iPAQ. I believe there's no internet access for prepaid users who use their phone as a modem.

*first u must activate your GPRS ( go to the nearest Globe customer service just tell them you want to activate it [prepaid or postpaid]).
*create an email account at www.softhome.net it will take around 5 mins only.
( eg login name = wonderwoman )
( eg password = darna )
Setting up your phone :
1. create a new data account
a.[CONNECT]->[DATA COMM]->[DATA ACCOUNT]->[ADD ACCOUNT?]
b.Choose [GPRS Data]
c.type in the name of the new acct ( eg. globe gprs )
d.type in APN ( www.globe.com.ph )
e.save it
2. setup your email client
a.[MESSAGES]->[E-MAIL]->[OPTIONS]->[EDIT ACCOUNT]->[ADD NEW?]
b.type in account name ( eg. MyEmail )
c.Go to [CONNECT USING] then choose the one your created before 1.c. ( globe gprs )
d.Go to [Inc. server] type in mail.softhome.net
e.Go to [Mailbox] type in your login email ( eg wonderwoman )
f.Go to [Password] type in your password ( eg darna )
g.Go to [Outgoing server] type in mail.softhome.net or smtp.globenet.com.ph ( if you want to be deducted 1peso every outgoing mail )
h.Go to [E-mail address] type in ( eg. wonderwoman@softhome.net )
i.Go to [From Name] type in ( of course your name dear )
3.[MESSAGES]->[E-mail]->[OPTIONs]->[SET ACCOUNT]
a.Choose acct name in 2.b. ( eg. MyEmail )
4. By now you can send and receive email on the fly Try it.

Has anyone tested MMS with T68i and prepaid? My GPRS is working and WAP over GPRS is working too ...
But i can't seem to get my MMS working, is it because i'm on prepaid? I followed the instructions given on https://www.myglobe.com.ph/myglobe/mms/inner1.asp#26 but it gives me the error "GPRS failed" , "GPRS parameters not supported" and "Network Communication failed ...."
Anyone can help?
