I put my flip on again since you lose a few things without it. Using the camera for example. You have to zoom with the stylus without the flip. When sending a picture from the camera directly the picture is not compressed in memory which makes your MMS rather large. You have to tap the screen to make adjustments in the camera mode. The QWERTY keyboard is useless in FO. Why?

With flip closed the screen is smaller and due to that it uses less battery. Installing mini Opera you can surf the web with flip closed if you want to.

There are also some bad things with flip closed. You can't access the alarm. There's no way of making a change of row in a SMS with the numeric keypad.

One final annoying thing with the phone is that it has to update the music files everytime you start the mediaplayer. If the mediaplayer is running in the background there's no problem, but due to lack of memory it keeps closing down and then you have to update it again. 2GB memorystick takes about 30-40 sek to update every time.

Enjoy.

@mange69
why get the big screen phone then?! and why get a touch screen if u do not like to use it? I think you got the wrong phone in this case.

how many times did u use the keyboard? it needs some time for u 2 get used to it. once u get used, it's a pleasure.

as far as media player, did u check the settings? remove the auto update, and ur problem goes away.

@mange69,
I had the same problem re Music files updating so to expand on what Scroitoru has said. It is not where i expected it to be but thanks to someone hear found it. I am assuming it is in the same place on the P990 as the M600. Go to Media Player then Music actually open this so you get Artists, Albums etc etc, then choose more, then preferences then choose files and File Update and change to manual. After which the annoying search will bother you no more hope that helped.

No,in P990 it is very easy. In music player itself just click setings-preferences-files-manual update. Three seconds job.
Same thing but sounds totally different, isn't it:))

FO with out a doubt. I love it far too much. Just tried agile messenger on it today whilst on a train and the qwerty keyboard is so bloody brilliant, so fast....

yes there's less shortcuts but hey, she's a looker when she's slimmer and the keyboard is just awesome.

Thanks for the responding and tip for the media player.
I'm truly enjoying the big screen. But like many other users on this forum I like to use it as a phone sometimes and othervise as a PDA. Some things you can't do fully without the flip with one hand. It's like telling someone A but not B. You can do alot with the jog dial, but the last thing like SEND you have to pick on the screen anyway.
I use the camera pretty often and without the flip it drives me crazy according to my previous message.

But I'm still enjoying the phone and so should you all. To bad it keeps restarting now and then. Twice this day for me. It seems to have a problem listening to music and surf the web at the same time. 80% of the times it cuts of the music and those where the only 2 things running. One other thing. When the keylock is active while listening to music thru the earphones the music button on the side is also locked. On my W810 that was unlocked in that case, but locked if no earphones was plugged in. To bad the HPM-82 doesn't work on the P990. That would ease things up alot.

Cheers
