Hi,
Info: K750i, F/W: R1L002, MPE 1.2.13, USB and/or Bluetooth,
I have problem to run a "Create Backup"
all option marked (Inl. files, Phonememory only)
After couple of minutes (6Mb of 8Mb of files) this message popups
"SetPath failed: \path to where I pointed out the backup folder\
OBEX Errorcode: 00 Phone didn't answer"
In my backup path, no files is copied. All subfolders are empty but they are created.
Tried SetupCOM, make no differance

Sorry, my bad. I wrote that in a rush. Here's the error:
Obex Protocol could not be initialized!!
OBEX Errorcode: 00 - Phone didn't answer
Any ideas? I have the runtime files installed, as well as both the regular program and the update. It's on WinXP. |

Do you have SP2? If yes then you also must have assigned a com port to your phone. In MPE select that comport.
If you have already done all of the above try this.
I faced a similar problem with my k700i. Turn off your phone. Take out the battery and sim and then restart.
If that doesnt work then do a master reset of only settings on your phone.(Do this at your own risk as one of the members ended up busting his memory card!!) Now try to connect.
If all of the above doesnt work,I suggest you inform the software writer zillertaler. |

I have SP2, but I have no idea how to assign a COM port to my phone - how do I do that? I wasn't aware that I needed to do that.
I have tried selecting different ports in the actual software, but nothing has worked so far. |

So you have not assigned a comport. Do this:
1) Insert your dongle in the usb port.
2) Go to Control Panel then Bluetooth devices.
3) If you have paired your phone then your phone will be shown. Like this in my case its a k700.
4) Select the tab COM Ports.
5) Turn on bluetooth on your phone.
6) Click add and then select Outgoing(Computer initiates connection).
7) Click browse that will search for device that wants to use com port.
It will find your phone.
9) Click OK.
10) It will assign a comport to your phone.
When using MPE select that comport and enjoy.
If any probs inform me. |

If step 7 doesnt work:
Instead of going to tab COM ports, select your device and click properties. Click Services. Check the Serial port check box and click apply. It will assign a COM port. When doing this your system will show found new hardware ballon saying serial port over bluetooth.

Do you have a bluetooth dongle or a cable?
Serial Cable: Check the label on the port you plugged the cable in. It should be marked Com 1 or Com 2, usually PCs dont have more then 2 COM ports, so chances are its either 1 or 2
USB Cable: Check in the device manager (Windows) which COM port is used for the serial port emulation. (Look under "ports")
Infrared: There is own applet in Control Panel for infrared. COM port used by IR is reported there. It is very often COM 2
BlueTooth: For this the above(above posts) steps work.

Yippie...
I got it working... I deleted the connection I already had in the BT menu on phone and PC, then re-connected the two using the PC connection wizard, and now it works
I found it worked only when I chose the passcode rather than an automatic one, dunno why!
