Same here but it reboots sometimes while streaming music on BT handsfree. Quite stable firmware.

This is sad news: "Unfortunately, at present there are no plans for any further software updates to be released for the Sony Ericsson K850i", because in fact this firmware never evolved past the "beta" stage.
how do you know it never passed the beta stage?
Isn't it obvious? The last FW version still has bugs and problems. SERIOUS bugs, not the kind that you can ignore. A phone that reboots while you TALK, or when you end a video recording, or when you end a simple voice recording (without saving anything you recorded) is a phone with serious issues. This should not be happening to phones being sold, only to phones being developed/tested! So, K850's software is still in beta, as far as I am concerned. And since they are not planning to update it, it will remain so.
K850i was the SE's most superb phone. And failure. Advanced to Android. |

the last FW has been the most stable one ever. And also name me one phone that does not have bugs in it. All phones have bugs in it and can cause problems, including the Iphone. Its normal for a phone to crash or re-start on you. You don't get bug free phones. just because the latest FW on this handset still restarts now and again or freeze's for some people, does not mean its a BETA version.

Look at the back side of your accumulator, like this:

Mr. Miyagi, I agree with some of your statements:
- the last FW is the most stable;
- you don't get bug free phones;
- this FW is not beta version. It just behaves like one. Please note that this is my personal opinion, and not a fact acknowledged by SE or anybody else.
What I do not agree with:
- It's normal for a phone to crash or re-start on you - is that so? We are just fooled into accepting this as "normal". Is it normal just because all the phones do it? But that was not the case 3-5 years ago. Truth be told, the complexity of these devices nowadays makes them prone to more and more bugs, and the rush to compete on the market causes the phone manufacturers to release phones with new technologies and poor testing. The bugs are then discovered by the users. Now (and this is my last statement on this issue) the K850i had so many and such important bugs (BROD, for crying out loud!) that I really REALLY felt like a beta-tester, not like a customer.
Oh, and please understand: even though I bitch and moan about this phone's FW, I still love the phone itself. Otherwise, I would have given it up pretty fast, instead of using it for one year and a half. Cheers!

Thanx a lot my K850 is 08W12.
Catalinux
Thats EXACTLY how i feel as well, the K850 is in desperate need of a FW update, in its current state it certainly makes me feel like a Beta tester. My Nokia N81 was FAR less buggy in its very 1st FW than the K850 is in its latest FW, that says a lot.
