Can you please have a look at your IMEI code and let me know.(please let me know what model do you got)
Type Approval Code is the first six digits of the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment identity). This code identifies the country in which type approval was sought for the phone, and the approval number. The first two digits of the TAC represent the country of approval.

I belive that we will find a lot of differents numbers there, other mean that you only will find the number 35 on phones newier then 2001.
35=Finland
49=Germany (only found them on older phones)
52=Mexico (only found them on older phones)

Thx a lot

I will find it strange that all the newier phones in the world is approved in Finland.....I belive that its not true...and this is the only way i have found to prove that i am right or wrong

T630 35 hong kong
P900 35 UK

it would seem that all type approvals are sought only in one country

Z600 35

not sure where it was manufactured.

Acouple of weeks back there was a thread with a link to a page where you could enter your IMEI and it wiould give stuff such as productions date (almost allwrong) and country of approval and stuff.

Indeed all newer phones appear to have 35 (finland) and to be quite honest I'm not sure what it means. Surely it does NOT mean every handset has travelled back and forth to Finland for some physical testing

T68i 35 China

i have heard about a site that posed as a helpful one that 'looked up your imei' but actually just wanted valid numbers for cloning on to stolen phones.

you can test it here:
http://www.numberingplans.com/index.php?goto=imei
520019-99-999999-9
490154-99-999999-9

I have enclosed 2 IMEI numbers, as you can see they have 52 and 49 in the begining. (but they are old phones)
