According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, two Samsung smartphones are at the top of the list of handsets with the highest level of customer satisfaction in the U.S. Both models manufactured by the Korean based tech titan, the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung GALAXY Note II, beat out the Apple iPhone 5. The survey was taken in March, prior to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S III scored an 84 on a 0 to 100 scale. The Samsung GALAXY Note II was next with an 82 which tied it with the Apple iPhone 4S. The current iteration of Apple's iconic smartphone was next tallying an 81.With the Apple iPhone 4S (82) outscoring the iPhone 5 (81), ACSI Director David VanAmburg made an interesting observation when he said, "The S III seemed to be a game-changer for Samsung in a way the iPhone 5 wasn't for Apple."
In the U.S., the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD scored a respectable 80 and the Motorola DROID RAZR scored a 77. The 3300mAh battery on the DROID RAZR MAXX HD allows power users to go without a charge for more than one day. In the wake of the introduction of the Motorola DROID Ultra and Motorola DROID Maxx, and on the eve of the introduction of the Motorola Moto X, VanAmburg says the score on the DROID RAZR MAXX HD proves that "Motorola can put out that Android smartphone that is in striking distance of both Samsung and iPhone." The ACSI said that it was too early for the new BlackBerry 10 models to generate a score.
While U.S. smartphone owners prefer Samsung, in South Korea the Apple iPhone 5 ironically scored the highest on the National Customer Satisfaction Index. The NCSI uses the same methodology as its U.S. counterpart.
