Are any new SE Cybershot phones in the works? There are only 2 Cybershot phones that i can think of unless i'm mistaken?Its about time SE released some new camera centric smartphones.

Doesn't seems to be any under way. Everything is all about Android at SE.
The Xperia Arc and Neo having some kind of "awesomeness" in their cameras, it's the same sensor in both and as I understand the same optics too.
Else some says that the Aino and C905 is the best camera phones made by SE until now.
But In my eyes it most be better to buy a phone with an OK (but not the best there is on a phone) camera and a normal digital camera.
OK, two devices are more than one. The risk is that the digital camera is left at home and you are stuck with a camera of a lesser quality than needed.

To be honest the words Cyber-shot mean nothing. It's all about the quality inside not a name. Sony Ericsson could produce a stunning camera phone just as easily without the Cyber-shot branding. It's like Nokia have produced excellent camera phones without Carl Zeiss optics like the 6700c. It's all just a name. The new Xperia range is all about the full package,camera,multimedia etc they don't need to put the words Cyber-shot on it. Think back to some older
Cyber-shot models. Were they always the best quality?? No. One or two were average like the c902 for one. The Elm had a surprise camera for everyone but it was not a Cyber-shot. You see what I am getting at?? I would like compete with the Nokia N8 in terms of camera performance & with a Xenon flash again. Although I do wonder sometimes with releasing an x8 & w8

The C901 deserved the Cyber-Shot branding. It makes better shots than the C905 and even Satio, and it's pictures contain more details, and are sharper. Also the K750 would have deserved the Cyber-Shot branding fot it's performance in 2005, and I think the K750's succes resulted the introduction of Cyber-Shot branding with K800 and K790 in 2006...

I actually think Japanese phones have nice designs (the flip and slide ones). Western phones kinda look boring to me. I would totally get one but those Japanese SE's can't be used outside Japan.

I would love to see Sony make a "Cyber-Shot Pro" ... a phone with FULL MANUAL controls on the camera and maybe even a built in tripod mount. I so often wish I could do 5-30sec exposures on my phone. I personally would spend whatever for a super awesome camera phone as 90% of what I use my phone for is pictures.

wait until Apple uses a 12mp module + xenon on their next iphone and claim that they can outclass compact digicams. looking at the mobile phone market today, everyone seems to be focused at whatever novelty the next iphone would have

I was also using an cyber shot but it really worst, my phone use to get hang always without reason, i hate sony, its not that much easy to handle.

i owned C905 and C901. i like Both.. they are the best camera phones. but unfortunately that kinda quality is not going for the Xperia models.. they use Bravia in Xpria range.. then why dont they use cybershot in it... i really want a Xperia with cybershot branding and xenon flash. i dont care about walkman...

Bravia Engine on all the new Xperia's I have had makes NO difference whatsoever. I did a test with loads of videos & photos with it on & off & I could see NO difference at all.

Did You do side-by-side comparison? It's just a slight improvement of colours and contrast, don't expect it to be mind-blowing
I can say it makes difference, I have it on my X10, and after making screenshots and comparing them on PC I could see the improvement there

C905 & C902 both are best cyber shot phone. If you want simple and beautiful cyber shot phone then c510 is also best.

For image quality alone only 3 cybershot phones exist; K800 series, K770 and C901. the rest were really underwhelming but almost all of them delivered performance wise, all models capture images fast, and have good focusing. Satio, Elm, Hazel and Aino deserves the cybershot logo more than those CS phones i didn't mention imho. K750 and S700 were the father of camera phones we now enjoy. but i would also include their rival Sharp CCD phones (GX30 and 902SH) which outperformed them, but sadly only few knows this. for some people of this generation iphone was the first to release a camera phone capable of producing digicam-quality images

How i wished i shared the same level of optimism with you, though i know for sure that Cybershot phones are not dead, but i think it won't make sense anymore unless they want to integrate the cellphone features across every sub brands

I'm using c905 (fatal C key - 3 times serviced) and C901(no wifi,gps and videocalls) but need bigger touch screen , no matter java, android or wp ... ok satio is great but no keyboard-
Why Xenon ? Becasue i make thousend photos when i go to the pubs for example, or am i on in dark places - i don't want to go for a parties with extra camera
Why Keyboard ? I had Xperia Mini Pro and keyboard for sms and internet is a big thing.
Why Call Buttons ? In wet condition , cold.. And it's faster

Cybershots family is great phones. (great cams & build quality).
im so fu%%ing tired of all Apple Iphone folks (who buy Iphones just because everyone else buy them)
