Don't you guys think we should have an Esato Android Application? I mean Android is now #1 selling OS

On a serious note I would love to have Esato Application on my X10

Wish I knew how to make Android Applications!

Someone should! One which allows us to upload pictures, locate other members using gps, host Esato Marketplace, etc.

That would be awesome, just like the XDA app

Oh yes

indeed, especialy if it allows uploading of pics as G-Face said, would be great for uploading pics to Gallery and Topics.
Imagine having it in the Share option in camera? You take a pic, click Share, Esato Gallery, voila! Lol,someone please do this!!

Sounds good already.

With automatic alerts for sellers and buyers. Sort of like a mini-esatoEbay.

I wouldn't mind Esato support for the android app TapaTalk.

Fantastic idea. Are there any Android app developers on Esato. If there are and you read this...MAKE IT!

Posted by lukechris
I would make it, but #1, nobody would actually pay for it (not enough anyway), and #2, I wouldn't be trusted with the DB details . TapaTalk seems the best idea

Posted by Nanu
Again the best way would be for Laffen to enable the forum to be used via TapaTalk

Posted by masseur
I almost wrote an Esato iphone app once but realised the futility of it given things like tapa talk etc.. I know we 'belong' but sometimes the practicalities outweigh the benefits

Posted by Indiandawg
Seems like we are not going to have one

Posted by lukechris
Plus once TapaTalk is integrated it works with iPhone and Android, and possible more int he future

Seems a good ideal to me. May be we could persuade him to put it on his todo list.

Shouldn't be too hard once Android version is out. (assuming you're talking about J2ME)

Posted by fbloise
mobile site will be always there

Posted by laffen
Why do you guys use Tapatalk? Is it because of the navigation, image upload or what? I am generally against making platform specific apps for things that can be viewed in a browser.

Posted by goldenface
Image uploading would be good. When mobile I find it difficult to upload a picture directly from my phone to esato and I'm using Android Gingerbread with flash 10.3.

I've only ever managed to do it once or twice.

Posted by jj03
the reason i don't submit pics often is because i can't be bothered to sit at my desktop...i'd like to do it through tapatalk...like i can on other forums through this app. its convienient.

Posted by xtacy
You can jump to the last unread post; replying to a post seems so much easier; interface is better; mark sub-forums as favourites and so on and so forth.

+1 goldenface and jj03

i cant upload images from my iPhone.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back to life, are there any plans to add Tapatalk support?

Posted by Bonovox
I managed to upload images to photos section via main site on my Note 3 & Z1

Posted by hihihans
Uploading to the photo section was one of the reasons I left Windows Phone.
I could do it with Opera browser on my old phone's. For other pics just paste the link

Hi guys, @Bono & @hihihans I can't upload images from my Z1 or Nexus 7 via crome using the upload button in the reply box which I can from my laptop or do you mean that you copy the image link from a hosting site like flikr or from your box account ?

Posted by hihihans
I can with chrome. Full site. Photo section. Upload. Press the button and search your file. In reply box press the camera. Here is proof.

Laffen, guys before we continue the discussion or work towards development of said app for said I terested platforms, the first thing we need to resolve is having an even font sizze for all posts within the entire db of posts and threads for every member.

If any of you have noticed trying to read these threads on a smartphone via chrome, internet, or BB10 browser, or Safari (all the ones I've used and seen this issue) is there are that are far too small in to t size to legibly read. Chrome seems to have a limit in how far it'll zoom on these boards. See attached picture (I hope it loads as Hihihans directed).

Edit nope can't upload from htc one. Just look at last page using chrome on your Android phones and you'll see the varying text font sizes. This would be so annoying to deal with within an app!!

Also I think Esato is using a less common forum engine than what howardforums, xda forums, crackberry forums and android central forums are currently using.

I didn't have the different font-sizes on my Lumia800 or before that with Opera Mini.

just to be certain you didn't see others posts in various font sizes on the forums (what I'm seeing) vs having font sizes on your Lumia800

Posted by Del
Yeah I'm seeing the different font sizes to tbh I thought it was just my phone lol but now I know it's not.
But @Supa_Fly your absolutely right this little bug needs fixing, but wouldn't tapatalk set it's own font size?
