Would it be possible to remove a pin from my fast port connector?

Hey, just wondering, on my HPM-70 headphones, I would like to use it, and plug it into my cars speakers via a tape thingy, so I can use it as handsfree. However if I do plug this in, the microphone is enabled, which is crap. So basically I want to use the cable for sound, but use the actual phones mic for talking.

I found this:

1. USB +5V
2. headphones common
3. SWITCH, microphone +
4. SWITCH, microphone -
5. Left
6. right
7. n.c.
8. with the FSE with GND short circuit, USB cable - open. (1k? resistor to GND(pin 9) -> serial)
9 GND (longer contact)
10. USB data (Serial data Rx (to phone))
11. USB data (Serial data Tx (from phone))
12. +5V from the battery charger.

So if I broke off 3 and 4 would that mean the phone mic would work instead?
thanks

That's where a discussion is about changing fastport connectors.

The best thing you should do before making any new thread is using the Search button appropriately.

Quite yes... It's logical, if you lose contact or break (or anything) those connectors you would lose the mic...

That works the same with other pins...
