Anyone know if this can be done? So I can plug my phone into my HiFi and play the music through its speakers.

Thanks,

TGP.

What phone you got?

I can do it with my W910i. I connect the handsfree into the phone and instead of headphones, i connect a lead with the same 3.5 adapter that goes to 2 phono plugs that connect to the aux input on my hifi.

Hope this helps

W850i

Do you mean like a wire thing with the same little plug thing on both sides? Because I have one of those and it fits into the adapter on my phone, I'll check if that works.

Cheers mate!

Oh I just looked do u mean the thing that says aux input and it has 2 little holes one red and one white. How would I get my phone to go into those holes? Do I need a special wire?

Yes. You can buy these cable quite cheap on eBay and you can plug your phone into anything with those red and white inputs.

also MMC-60 is quite a nice accessory from SE. Bit more expensive but good quality, gold plated connections.

gold plated connections are rubbish, nothing short of a gimmick.

I like MRC-60.

you have little grasp of Audio technology then my friend. The poorer quality the transmission, the more important it is to have good connectors. The phone is hardly a "hi-fidelity" piece of audio equipment, so it needs every bit of help it needs. Gold is a considerably better conductor of electricity than any other metal (besides superconductors).

Why do you think the fastport connector on the phone itself is gold plated? Why do you think quality circuit boards use gold solder?

Besides it's not just that they are gold plated that makes it better quality. The cable has better shielding and protection for the copper inside, and the copper is thicker than cheap fastport to rca connectors.

go to maplin electronics(shop or online store)and you can get the neccessary cables and adapters very cheaply.
i use the fastport adapter and a 3.5 mil to 3.5 mil cable tom connect to my stereo.

I have the MMC-60 cable and find it OK but sound quality is average. This is because the cable is supplying a speaker signal to an RCA input which is not an ideal scenario. Better to try an FM transmitter or A2DP accessory IMO.

My panasonic hi fi has a "music port", I can plug in any mp3 player with the cable I have that's got a 3.5mm jack at either end.

@abbafan1972-my panasonic stereo has a music port and usb port for my usb flash drive-is yours the SC-AK750 model

Ultimately there is only so much you can improve the sound from your Walkman phone but the MMC-60 does a grand job.

I would definitely purchase one of these before an FM transmitter as I think you will find the length of the cable and the range of the FM transmitter about the same - around 1 metre.

yep, plus fm transmitter's cut frequencies above 15KHz so it's a narrower frequency response than can be pushed through copper.

SE music phones push out 20Hz-20KHz, so an FM transmitter cuts out a fair chunk of audio. My ears can still detect sounds slightly above 17KHz, so I'm hearing a flatter sound through an fm transmitter compared to copper.

I use an fm transmitter in the car however as I don't have an aux input on my head unit. I do use the MMC-60 still because atleast then I'm giving the signal the best path to the fm transmitter I can give it. It does give a better sound than the HPM-70 + "3.5mm minijack to rca" lead combination.

Also I think the line out via headphone socket may not be pure "line out" but it's not a very powerful signal so it doesn't hurt for it to be amplified via the line in circuit.

never tried it, but would be better connection than hpm-70+"3.5mm male to male" cable (less connections to pass through)
