Hey Guys!

I'm new here, and it seems like the place to come for some help!

Just received my new 3-branded K800i and I love it. For once, I prefer the pre-installed icons from the network, to the generic Sony Ericsson ones.

Because of this, I don't really wanna flash the firmware on my phone - but as a last resort, I might.

Basically, on the standby screen, my right selection key shows an ugly 'Planet3' button - is there anyway to disable this, or make it a shortcut for something else?

Thanks guys!

I also like to know how to get rid of planet 3. There is already a shortcut under planet 3. When i hang up i get online by misstake.

Nope.

You need to flash with generic firmware, search and there are loads of posts on this - including in the k800 firmware thread.

Oh

But I like the icons on the 3-version of the firmware.

They will disappear too, and be replaced by the generic ones if you flash the firmware. You can't keep the cake and eat it...

i read on some forums that you can disable the annoying planet 3 scrolling banner during standby by going to "settings/display/.." they said there is an option there in which you can turn on/off the banner?.. im not quite sure because i already debranded my 3 phone. and when i go to the display setting i found nothing.. maybe you guys try to find it out?

Isnt it possible to change the homepage at settings, so the site u wanna have will pop up instead of planet3...

Hi all,
most probably you've already found out how to disable the banner in the k800i, but just in case, go to Settings/general/instant viewer and deactivate.

I just received it today and I already love it!
regards!!
