thx

no chance, I'm sure!

.jar file - designed for Java (J2ME)
.sis file - designed for EPOC (Symbian)

It's like asking how do I convert a .exe to work on MacOS...

No emulator stuff?

And what is this JSR-75 extention in java...1 of the installed jar file in my P900 is asking for it 2 run.

The JSR 75 extension provides extra functionalty for PDA / PIM applications and allows more powerful file system functions (advanced searches etc.)

You can download it here:

http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=75

And I can only agree with masseur, you can't convert .sis to .jar nor vice-versa. Whilst an emulator to run symbian apps under java is certainly possible in theory, it's unlikely to happen. Java is relatively slow since it's already runing under an emulator in a way (the runtime envirnment) so a java app that runs symbian apps would be incredibly slow. It would also have to be quite large to support all of the symbian APIs as well as other functionality for resizing the screen, CPU and sound emulation etc.

Java and symbian are a whole different aspect. Neither works as the another.

i was going to make some funny comment, but now im curious, on symbian phones, you cant have any java apps what so ever? only .sis files?

Thanks cycovision...now all I ve 2 do is find the download link on those pages...m not on the comp & Opera on the P900 is confusing at times.

@ has

Keep looking mate, the links are on there somewhere

@ECS

Most smartphones also have the java runtime environment built in just as many non-smartphones do, so they do support java apps as well as symbian / windows mobile / whatever apps.

It's doing it the other way round that causes a problem!

Well, if someone can tell me which entegrated environment to read and edit .sis files' source codes, i can possibly convert them to java
By the way I'm looking for a .jar file (for my sony ericson cell phone) to block unwanted calls, there're .sis samples 'round but i cannot find a .jar one...

There's a sis app which you can use to make graphs and calculate functions and math stuff, i don't remember the name but if anyone knows a java one that can do this, can i know it's name? I have been searching for ages!
