Yeah it's called Computational photography... refers to digital image capture and processing techniques that use digital computation instead of optical processes...

The main sensor size is 1/1.7-inch 40mp pixel binning withe the ultra wide angle lens 20mp for optain large pixels
it is not very interesting to take pictures in 40 mp, the interest is to take advantage of the technique/setup of the combination 40mp + 20mp sensors to get a 10mp pic with less noise good exposure nice dynamic range .. .but ok i will upload a photo in 40mp on occasion so that you can see all the defects/limites of the big sensor seul (chromatic aberations, under/over expose, noise, less sharp (small pixels in that resolution)... And i don't understand, you want too see a 40mp and the most of the time you upload your pics in 8mp !?

I do not take 8 mpx photos, I change them to 8 mpx! I do it better than the camera :) When I take 808 photos, I always use the highest resolution of 41 mpx, then I edit them myself and compress them to 8 mpx!

Yeah i understand that, resize pictures are looking better than the real size, like that we don't see it at 100%. Here i upload the pictures i took at 100% straight out of the phone without any editing so that people can see them in full size. This olf fashion phone from 2012 is is supposed to make oversampling pictures from the 41mp and make 8mp ones, it's the trick of this pureview setup, te trick of P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro is to make pixels binning to 40mp + 20mp and make 10mp pics.
I do not understand these resistant veterans of the pureview sect to be at this point against modern smartphones! Times have changed, you can take beautiful pictures with much more ease than with this old slow symbian smartphone of another age. Technology has evolved.
But I agree, at the time it was a feat such a picture quality for a smartphone and is still worth today but ... you still use it every day !?

I use the Nokia 808 only sporadically if I want to have very detailed photos. Currently, I use Galaxy S8 everyday
