Press Release: Red Bend Software, a provider of advanced over-the-air (OTA) software update technology, has signed a global agreement with Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications to embed Red Bend’s vCurrent™ Mobile OTA software update technology in Sony Ericsson mobile handsets. Red Bend’s technology allows mobile handset vendors and operators to reliably and cost-effectively deliver firmware updates to mobile phones already in users’ hands via an OTA process. Red Bend’s vCurrent Mobile technology allows Sony Ericsson to generate extremely compact update packages that are optimized for delivery to mobile phones over narrow bandwidth networks. The updated package is then quickly, securely and reliably installed within the limited memory environment of the phone. “RedBend’s technology helps us to maintain a high level of user satisfaction by allowing users of Sony Ericsson phones to upgrade to the most recent firmware revision,” said Haroon Alvi, vice president, Head of Application Planning, Sony Ericsson. “Following a demanding evaluation process, Red Bend proved themselves able to meet Sony Ericsson’s high expectations regarding technology and technical support.” “Our vCurrent Mobile solution enriches Sony Ericsson's customer care services," said Yoram Salinger, president and CEO of Red Bend Software. “As leading handset manufacturers like Sony Ericsson enhance the features and dependability of their phones, they are recognizing the benefits of the Red Bend OTA solution.” About Red Bend Software
