Pantech launches revolutionary T-slide phones

24 May 2005 by axxxr
Pantech has just launched its “revolutionary" new T-slide, multimedia models, the PT-S110 and the PT-K1100.

The new phones are described as ‘T-slide’ models because, when the bottom slider is fully stretched with the vertical display rotated at a 90 degree angle, the handset forms an alphabet T-shape. With both models, users can transform the phone from a simple oval shape to the fully extended T-shape with one hand.

Dr. Moon S. Song, President & CEO, Pantech&Curitel Communications, Inc., said: “The combined launch of the PT-S110 and the PT-K1100 is a significant new departure for us, in terms of the level of innovation inherent in both the design and the multimedia functions of these new phones".

“The launch of these revolutionary phones underlines our focus on supporting the expansion of the Pantech brand across all global markets with ongoing new product development, and on continually providing new applications and functions to satisfy customer demand," said Dr. Song.

Both the PT-S110 and the PT-K1100 are aimed at providing mobile customers with the optimal combination of advanced functionality and innovative design. The two models are largely similar, differing solely in terms of selected multimedia applications being suited to the service requirements of individual operators.

The new phones feature a far more robust design than other models with rotating displays, with - in the case of both models - the whole body of the handset supporting the LCD. In addition, both phones automatically recognize the horizontal and vertical display, with users not being required to change any specific phone settings.

The enhanced media editing functionality is among the unique attractions of the new T sliders. Users can edit specific frames of recorded movie/picture files and intersperse these images with other saved files. Users can also insert background music, sound effects and subtitles in the recorded files, allowing for a real movie-making experience.

The MP3 players featured on the PT-S110 and the PT-K1100 can store 20 songs and 32 songs respectively. The memory capacity on both phones can be expanded with a mini SD card. With the equalizer control, the quality of the sound on the MP3 players in the two models can be fine tuned for audio sensitive users.

Both models include a two mega pixel camera, with auto focus functionality and internal flash. Other features include electronic dictionary, text-to-speech functions, OCR and mobile banking facilities. The PT-K1100 also features an FM transmitter.
