I've tried upgrade the firmware of my K750i using the online method but am facing problems. Do I need to install the USB Update driver? I've downloaded it and tried following SE's advice by switching off the phone, press "c", then connect, but nothing happened. I've also tried upgrading the firmware without installing the driver, but nothing happened as well. Please help..... |

You need to use the Update Service USB Driver. Please do not skip this step. Install it when it prompts for a new driver.

The instructions on the SEUS site clearly states what is required and what should be installed before trying to perform the update:
Requirements to perform an update
These requirements must be fulfilled in order to update your device successfully.
I have a PC with at least a Pentium 133 with 32 MB RAM or more - a Pentium II 233 with at least 64MB RAM is recommended
The operating system on my PC is one of the following: Windows 2000 (SP3 or higher required) or XP (SP1 or higher required)
I have installed the PC Suite on my PC - the PC Suite can be found on the CD that came with your product or on the Global Support Area
I have connected my USB cable between the phone and the PC, and installed Update Service USB driver - Drivers and install instructions are available on the Global Support Area
My phone is turned on
My device is fully charged and the charger cable is disconnected
It's usually best to follow the instructions provided by the Update Service for it to work successfully.

Yes, you should install that driver. I've done this a few times, and as long as you follow the guidelines, you should not encounter too much problems.
I have another question about the K750 firmware though... I spoke to my phone delivery guy yesterday, and he told me that SW-upgrades should preferably be done in a qualified workshop rather than from the internet, because the firmware on the internet does not contain all features you get from the original SW. (Or the one you get in the workshop.)
I walked down to the workshop and asked there, and he confirmed that this was the case, but wouldn't tell me what the difference was.
Does anyone here know _what_ features are missing? Or anything about the difference?
