You're trying to use a Nokia to upload a picture in a Sony Ericsson-forum, I have a wild guess what the problem might be

@qoastro, that would have mattered if i tried uploading pics thru wap..Which is impossible anyway As far as i know, esato identifies phones only when posting thru wap. Now i'm using a html browser..how could esato know from which equipment i am posting from?

I belive it says, when posted from a phone:
"This message was posted with a Sony Ericsson T610" or
"This message was posted with a Sony Ericsson Z1010" or
"This message was posted with a Nokia"
(Notice how it only defines it as a Nokia and not which model )
It says this even if you use the html-browser, atleast, that's what I think...

Nope my friend. The"this message was posted from" message appears only when you post using wap/wml. Not even when using html light will that message appear. So thats not the case here!

Hmmm..but that definitely doesn't seem to be the problem. Esato says it accepts only jpeg and gif files. I tried uploading a jpg image. But i changed its extension to "jpeg" before posting. What is the difference between jpg and jpeg? And can a jpg file be changed to jpeg merely by changing its extension?

Well, i'm using a full html browser. I can access the upload picture page but have not yet been able to successfully uplodad one. The question is how does esato know i'm posting from a "phone"? I'm not using the phones default browser. A third party full html capable browser.

esato "knows" because of a browser's user-agent identity string, which basically identifies the phone's web client. |
