So cingular is robbing people with their rate plans and their gprs rates, but T-mobile isn't. But cingular said it has UMTS and supports video calling...while T-mobile doesn't.
any Input on this Issue would be helpfull, cause I really wanted to experience video calling. and was wondering if I should switch to cingular? I called them up and they said they have no idea what the hell I am talking about?

I haven't heard anything about it from either company. Maybe Cingular thought you were talking about Edge, I know they have that over t-mobile US.

Cingular is slowly rolling out UMTS service in select markets. As of right now I think it is still restricted to employees and special testers, but don't quote me on that. Point is, that it isn't widely available yet. Likelihood is that your area doesn't have it at all if they didn't know what you were talking about. Cingular plans to have it available in a few of their biggest markets by the end of the year I think.
T-Mobile doesn't have any plans with regards to UMTS in the States as far as I have heard. I haven't even heard much about EDGE from T-Mobile users.
End result is don't hold your breath to have a video call in the States any time really soon. Just know that we will get it eventually.
